You decide to try asking Spooky for help. It can’t hurt to try, right? If she refuses, you’ll just continue on without her help.
“Spooky?” you ask.
Instantly, the massive face of the ghost girl appears in front of you. She’s grimacing at you, and lets out a deafening shout of “BOO!”
You scream and stumble back, while Spooky simply laughs and floats upwards, spinning in the air.
“That was great!” she shouts. “You get scared so easily! And the face you make when you’re frightened... it’s so funny! You might be the best guest I’ve had here in a long time, little doll!”
You roll your eyes and look up at the giant ghost as she floats down closer to you again. She phases through the floor so only her shoulders and head are visible, and you have to look up to meet her gaze. You take a deep breath and ask your question.
“Spooky, I have a request. It’s taking forever to get around this mansion. I’ll probably die of exhaustion before I get to the 100th room. Do you think you can carry me instead?”
The ghost girl smirks and snorts. “Wow, you’re lazy,” she says. She floats up a bit so you can see her crossing her arms.
You cross your arms as well, and glare up at her. Despite the size difference, you hope that you can convince her to agree with you by being stern enough.
“I’m not lazy,” you say. “If I was normal size, I’d go through this mansion without any trouble. But I’m too slow when I’m small like this. So, please, can you help me?”
Spooky doesn’t reply right away. The two of you stare at each other for a bit. After what feels like hours, Spooky groans and reaches for you with a hand. “Alright, fine,” she says. “Come here.”
You smile and lift your arms so they won’t be pinned. You’re surprised that she can grab in the first place, since you expected a ghost to be unable to grab a physical thing like your body. However, as soon as Spooky’s translucent blue hand seizes you, you wince—her skin is freezing cold, and you start shivering.
You quickly find yourself lifted up to Spooky’s huge face as she floats up and hovers in the middle of the room. She smirks at you and says, “Huh. You look even cuter in my hand. You really are like a living doll!”
She squeezes you and giggles. You simply grunt and mutter, “If you say so. Well, thanks for picking me up. This should go a lot faster.”
“Hey, don’t get any wrong ideas. I won’t do this for the rest of the mansion, you know. I’m just giving you a rest. You’ll still have to walk most of the way.”
With that, Spooky lowers you to her chest and adjusts her grip so you’re facing forward and can see where you’re going. She then begins floating onward. She opens doors from a distance with a wave of her free hand, and the two of you progress through the rooms and hallways much faster than you could on your own.
