You’re an average Leftherian living in Fonsett Village, a quaint little town in the Leftherian Archipelago. You’ve never traveled beyond this town, but you’ve always wanted to see what’s out there. You’ve heard plenty of stories from all around the Cloud Sea, which have sparked your interest in the world outside. The most interesting stories were about Drivers and Blades.
From what you understand, Blades are living weapons that can be awakened from Core Crystals by people called Drivers. Blades give powers and assistance to their Drivers; however, only certain people are destined to bond with the crystals. You always dreamed of finding a Core Crystal in the hopes that you could try to resonate with it. You’ve heard that bad things can happen to people who aren’t destined to bond with a crystal, but you’re willing to take the risk if it means you can get a powerful companion. With a Blade to help you, you can definitely set out and journey around the world.
Your lucky day finally comes when a wandering Nopon trader comes by the archipelago. You visit him to see what he has in stock, and to your shock, he’s selling what looks like a Core Crystal. He seems to think it’s an ordinary blue gem, and he’s selling it for rather cheap because it has a huge, ugly crack in it. However, you buy it right away, regardless of the damage, and take it back home.
Soon, you’re sitting on the floor in your bedroom, staring at the cracked Core Crystal in your hands. You can’t believe you’re actually holding a real Core Crystal. This is like a dream come true. And now, it’s time to see if you can actually resonate and become a Driver. You just hope the crack doesn’t cause any problems.
You shake your head and forget about the crack. You need to concentrate. You focus on the crystal and try to imagine it transforming into a Blade. After a little while, the crystal begins to glow, and you’re overjoyed. You’re lucky—you’re destined to be a Driver after all! Still, you keep concentrating. You can’t get distracted. You need to complete the awakening and get your Blade!
...Wait, is that crack in the crystal getting bigger?
