You were sleeping soundly, nestled in Diane's palm, until you suddenly awoke. Your body seemed to have reacted to a sense of nearby danger. Diane’s hand was still on top of you, so you carefully crawled out of them. You looked at her giant face and saw that she was still soundly sleeping. Maybe being transported here gave you some kinda power?
Putting that aside, you scanned the area, looking for whatever triggered your danger reflex. It was still late in the night, so your eyes had some trouble adjusting to the darkness. Then, you hear some rustling, which seemed to have come from behind the campfire. You slowly approached the campfire, when suddenly a figure jumped out at you.
You jumped backward, dodging their attack. Seems like this person was the reason your body was so freaked out! By this point your eyes had adjusted to the darkness, so you managed to get a good look at the figure. They were clad in blueish armor, covering their entire body and head. In their right hand was a strange staff. You decide to see if you can converse with them. “Hey, who are you?”
The person seemed surprised you dodged their attack, but quickly regained their composure. “I am the mighty Zolthar, servant of Lord Calreum!” he says proudly. “I was hired to assassinate the anomaly that appeared in this area recently. Seeing your strange attire, I would assume that is you.”
He scoffed as he said the last part. This guy seemed really full of himself! “Hey, I didn’t exactly have any chance for a wardrobe change.” you reply back. “I suppose there’s no way we can negotiate this?”
Zolthar simply chuckled. “I’m afraid not! As the greatest of Calreum’s servants, he gave me a weapon that he himself designed! Now of course I at first refused such a gift, but…”
You watched as Zolthar continued monologuing. Guess that’s what the weapon in his right hand was, huh? Thinking quickly, you make a dash for it. You whip out a rock you picked up off the ground, and bring it towards the top of the staff. Zolthar soon realized what was happening, but it was too late. Your rock came down on the glowing crystal on the top of the staff, causing a flash of light. You were both blown backwards as the flash blinded you both.
Upon next opening your eyes, you found the world to look much… different. Everything seemed much bigger, strangely enough. What was once normal grass, was now about as tall as you! As you looked around, you heard a yell nearby. Coming through some stalks of grass was Zolthar.
“You fool! Do you have any idea what you just did?! That crystal was the source of the wand’s shrinking power! I intended to strike you with it, but now we’re both shrunk. Considering the scale of everything, I'd say we’re about 2 inches tall...”
He seemed more angry than worried. But more importantly, you had been shrunk!? If Diane was tall before, she’d be gigantic for you at this size! You looked behind you, and confirmed your suspicions. Diane was still sleeping there, but she was much larger than before. The explosion knocked you near her hand. At your current size, you were just about as tall as her finger nail, if not smaller! You weren’t sure if you could take on this Zolthar fellow alone, so getting Diane’s attention was your priority.
Zolthar saw you dashing for her finger, and swiftly pursued. “I may have been shrunk, but I’ll be damned if I let my prey get away!”
As you climbed onto her finger, you saw Zolthar rapidly approaching. You quickened your pace and moved towards her palm. You and Zolthar’s movements seemed to have caused Diane to feel a bit of a tickle, and she began rolling over. You held on as best you could as her hand began rotating and moving. Diane finished rolling and was now lying on her back. Her hand moved to near her face and completely flipped, sending you and Zolthar flying off.
Upon landing, you found yourself on her face. It was big before, but it was like a landscape now. Her lips alone completely dwarfed you in size. Suddenly, Zolthar made a mad dash for you, brandishing a knife in one hand. You ran in the opposite direction, making your way over to her mouth. Unfortunately, this also meant you were backed into a corner. Any further back and you risked falling in.
“Well well well, looks like it’s the end of the line!” Zolthar yells before making one final dash.
Thankfully, luck was on your side, as at this moment Diane also began to yawn. This threw Zolthar off, and you decided to make the best of this chance. You side stepped his stab and used his momentum to push him into her open mouth. You could hear his yell slowly diminish in volume as he fell down into her throat. Diane then finished yawning and closed her mouth. Just to seal the deal, you also heard what seemed to be a gulp.
Although unconventionally, you managed to defeat this strange attacker. Now, you had the issue of being tiny. You quickly moved away from her mouth, not wanting to meet the same fate. You made your way to the middle of her right cheek, close to her eye. It was still the middle of the night, and the whole ordeal had made you even more tired. You decided that you would deal with the shrinking problem in the morning. And with that, you drifted to sleep.
