"Hey! Ma'am! Can you hear me!? Look down!" You shout.
Your voice didn't reach her as she went on stirring. Sighing in frustration, you look at her bare foot and get an idea. If she couldn't hear you, you'd make her look down.
So you walk up to her foot and bite down as hard as you can.
"Ow!" Freya shouts as she pulls her foot back from a sudden pain. She drops her wooden spoon from the sudden movement, but that was far from her primary concern. Something just bit her. She looks at her foot and see no blood dripping.
She looks down and sees something near her. Now it wasn't uncommon for her little abode to have insects since it's in the middle of a forest. She'd pay them no mind as they were harmless to her. But one just bit her foot.
Seems like your plan worked as the woman is looking down at you and for a few seconds, exchange glances, until she reaches down for you.
Her massive hand coils around you and you feel an intense vertigo as you're lifted up to her massive face.
For a few seconds, pure silence. You both seem to look over each other. Just when you're about to speak, her tree sized finger starts to poke you.
"Strange. You don't look like any insect I've seen before. Odd colors, four limbs, standing on hindlegs... Hair only on your head. A new species, perhaps?" Her thumb and index finger close in and pinch you, giving you a light squeeze.
"Squishy... No invertebrate or shell, but there is a skeleton. You strikingly reassemble a person.
"That's...because I am a person." You speak up.
Hearing your sudden voice, the woman dropped you in surprised and you free fall through the air.
You flail around mid drop until you land on the soft surface that is her hand. Freya's quick reaction saved you from a painful landing.
"T-thanks..." You said.
Freya brought you back up to her face and looked you over. Sure enough, you were human.
"How'd...you get like this? Last I checked, humans are suppose to be thumb sized. Unless you're something that resembles a human."
"I'm human. And as you said, I'm not suppose to be this size. But since you live out here, It's not the weirdest thing you've seen, I bet?" You were trying to lighten the mood, which works as it got a small laugh out of her.
"You'd be surprise of the things I run into out here. But a small human is completely new. Why are you like this? Were you born this way, or messing with forces you shouldn't have?"
"Well, no... See, I just woke up like this in the middle of a forest and was nearly crushed by you. I followed you here in hopes that you'd help me."
"Hm. I've never seen or heard of shrinking magic or something that could cause it. I do admit thought, you are kinda cute like this." She said, rubbing your head. "Maybe...I should keep you like this. You had such a terrible time and journey getting here."
You blush a little as her finger rubs your head. She seems nice and friendly, but you don't want to remain like this forever. Even if you're getting taken care of by a gentle giantess, you want to be normal again.
"P-please. I don't want to remain like this." You said.
"Ok, ok. I'm just teasing you." She said, placing you down on her table. "Let me see if there's something that can undo this."
Freya walks over to one of the wooden boxes and pulls out an old book that looks like it hasn't been opened in years. She's already mastered every spell and potion in the book anyway, but your situation is new to her. So she opens it and skims the pages looking for a cure.
"No, no... That one cures illness. This one's for sleepless nights... Might save that one for later." She continued skimming and found out, in a surprise to herself as well, there was a magic spell and cure for shrinking. How could she overlook this? And who would even have a use for a spell like it?
Well, either way, she found what she was looking for and reading the ingredients, she has everything she need to reverse it. But a part of her didn't want to. She wanted to keep you with her and take care of you. Not out of a need to be a pet or anything. But to her, you have a striking resemblance to her own son. Minus the marking and unkempt hair. She's long for her son to forgive her, but he doesn't want anything to do with her. He doesn't even speak to her unless it's vile threats.
But you... You need her help. You need someone to watch over you and care for you. Like a mother. She can have a second chance and do it right. She could protect you, care for you, tend to your every need, love you even. It would be like taking care of her son all over again.
"I could be a mother again..." She mutters. It was all she ever wanted. But that wouldn't be fair to you. She'd be using you to fill a hole. And she shouldn't pushing her desires on you as you came to her in good faith and asked for her help.
Looking at the book, Freya chose to... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
