It’s been a fun day swimming at the lake, but you’re ready to head home now. You prepare to swim back to shore and dry off, but stop as you notice a strange glowing light beneath you. You adjust your swim trunks, take a deep breath, and swim down, looking through your goggles to see what the thing is. However, as you come close, the light grows and blinds you, and you feel a strange tingling all throughout your body.
When your vision returns and the tingling stops, you realize something is wrong. The light is gone, and you can feel and hear the water around flowing. You aren’t in the lake anymore—did you teleport somewhere? Was that light a portal? You never heard of anything like that existing in real life...
But you have a more serious problem: you’re running out of breath, and the surface of the water looks far away. You try swimming up with as much energy as you can muster, but you seem to be moving slower than you usually do. You feel your lungs start to burn. You might run out of air!
Suddenly, you hear a muffled splash. You look upriver and see something big approaching. You stare in amazement, and even forget to keep swimming, because the thing approaching is unlike anything you’ve seen before. It’s some sort of enormous creature that looks like a mix of a human woman and a fish, but she isn’t a mermaid. She has two arms and two legs, and there’s a pair of fins and a large tail coming from her head; together, they give the impression of long hair, even though her body is hairless. Her scales (or perhaps it’s actually skin) are red and white. She’s wearing jewelry, along with a blue sash, but no other clothing.
She swims gracefully through the water, her yellow eyes roving around. As she comes closer, her gaze finally falls on you. She looks surprised for a moment, but then focuses and speeds up, reaching out with one hand.
Your vision is going dark now. You can’t get enough energy to keep swimming. You watch the strange fishy giantess come closer, hoping she can save you...
You wake up coughing and gasping for air. You’re out of the water now, and lying on a smooth, wet, cold surface. You look around with blurry vision, and hear a soft feminine voice with what sounds like a British accent...
