“Oh, sure!” she says. “Totally! I’ll see what I can do.”
“Thanks!” you say, feeling relieved. You introduce yourself to the tiger girl, and she tells you her name is Mia. She also says she’s a treasure hunter—and demands that you not call her a thief or tomb raider. Since it seems like a touchy subject, you quickly agree.
“Alright,” she says. “Well, first of all, do you remember anything about how you ended up here?
“No,” you reply. “My mind’s kind of hazy, but I think I was just minding my own business in my home, then I sort of blacked out and woke up here. I know that’s not a lot of info to go off of, though...”
“You can say that again,” Mia mutters. “Still, I’ve got an idea of how you ended up here. See, this place is the Kaleidoscope. It’s like a big maze full of monsters and treasure, and parts of it keep shifting in and out of other worlds. Sometimes, people get dragged out of their worlds and into the Kaleidoscope when that happens.”
“Oh... in that case, to get back home, could I just stay here? Maybe this place will shift back to my world?”
“I bet not,” Mia says, her ears drooping. “First of all, a tiny little guy like you won’t last long against the monsters here. Second, the shifts are super random. I don’t think we can trust them to send you back home.”
You sigh dejectedly, but Mia reaches out and gently pats you on the head with her giant paw. “Hey, don’t look sad!” she says. “There’s another way you could get home. I dunno if you’ve heard of World Flippers before, but they say every world has one, and they let you jump to other worlds. And I know where the local World Flipper is. You could use that to go home, but—”
You gasp. “Really? Great! Then what are waiting for? Please take me there!”
“Hold on, little fella. If you wanna use the World Flipper, you gotta know the coordinates of your world first.”
“Um... I don’t know what that means,” you mutter. “My world is Earth... do you know where that is?”
“Nope, never heard of it,” Mia sighs. “Looks like we’ve got a problem. Unless you know where your world is, the only way to get home would be to use the World Flipper to keep jumping to random worlds. And that’s a bad idea. Some can be really dangerous.”
“Then what do I do?”
The tiger girl considers her options before replying...
