You wake up and groan. For some reason, you don’t feel well-rested. You sit up and look around, rubbing your eyes.
Wait—this isn’t your bedroom! You’re out in a forest, lying on soft grass. But seems as if you shrunk, because everything is massively oversized, and you feel like you’re only a few inches tall.
This must be a dream, but it feels very real.
You anxiously begin to wander around, looking for any signs of civilization, and cautious of any predators that might be looking to gobble you up. Thankfully, you don’t encounter any danger, and you soon reach a dirt path. You look both ways, and see someone approaching from one direction.
At first, you think she’s human, because she looks almost identical to one. However, she has oversized round ears and a furry tail, as if she’s part monkey. She’s wearing a pink dress and hat, along with black leggings and brown boots. Her dress has a brooch that looks like a green triangle with wings. She seems young and cute, but she’s still a giantess compared to you, due to your current predicament. Regardless, she looks harmless and trustworthy, and may even be able to help you out. So, you nervously step out onto the path, revealing yourself.
The girl spots you emerging from the bush and gasps. She pauses before walking closer, moving more cautiously now. She looks down at you with her big blue eyes, while you stare up at her and gulp. You hope you really can trust this girl...
Finally, she’s reached you. She kneels down on the dirt path, and you meekly wave at her.
“Oh, hello there!” the girl says. She stares at you curiously, and continues, “I don’t believe I’ve seen someone like you before. You’re a lot smaller than a regular Lunatean.”
“I’m... not from around here,” you say. “And I’ve never seen someone like you either. What’s your name?”
“I’m Lolo,” the girl replies.
You tell her your name, then ask, “Can you tell me where I am?”
“You’re a bit south of La-Lakoosha,” the girl replies.
“I have... no idea what that is,” you say. “Like I said, I’m not from around here. I don’t even know what this place is, or how I got here. The last thing I remember was falling asleep in my bed, and now I’m here—and a lot smaller than I should be. Honestly, I think this place is just a dream.”
“Well, you’re not entirely wrong,” Lolo murmurs. “This is Lunatea, and it’s a dream world. But unlike a regular dream, it’s not an imaginary place. You’re actually here right now.”
“That’s... confusing,” you say. “But if this is a sort of dream place, is that why I’m small? I mean, weird stuff happens in dreams, and this is pretty weird.”
“Maybe. I’ve never heard of anyone shrinking before, but there are strange powers out there in the world.”
You sigh and shake your head. “Okay, well, I guess it doesn’t matter why I shrunk. The important thing is getting back to normal, and getting out of here. I’d rather not be stuck in some alternate world. Can you help me get back home?”
Lolo immediately leans forward and blurts out, “Yes! I’d love to help!”
You stumble back in surprise, while she pauses and blushes a bit. “Sorry,” she says. “I got a bit overexcited. See, I’m a priestess-in-training, and I’m really eager to prove myself. So I’m always happy to help other people.”
You quickly recover from Lolo’s outburst. She’s certainly a bit excitable, but you can tell she’s a good person. You were right to trust her. You smile up at her and say, “Alright, thanks for helping me. I really appreciate it.”
Lolo continues to blush, and clears her throat. “O-okay. Well, first of all, I’ll take you to La-Lakoosha. We can talk to the High Priestess. She may be able to give us some ideas for what to do. Do you mind if I carry you?”
You shake your head and lift your arms. Admittedly, you’re nervous about being held by a giantess, but she seems friendly enough to not be a threat. So you stand still and let her grab you. Her fingers curl around you, leaving your arms, shoulders, and head in the open. It feels odd to have a giant hand wrapped around you, but it also feels strangely comfortable, as she holds you gently.
Lolo then stands up and holds you against her chest. Your head leans up against her brooch as she begins to walk along the path.
“We’ll be at La-Lakoosha soon,” she says. “As long as nothing gets in our way...”
