One day, you’re relaxing at home when you feel a strange tingling sensation all over your body. Your vision goes dark, and you struggle to avoid fainting. At the same time, you see a strange green aura engulfing your body, and then there’s a sudden bright flash that blinds you. Your vision recovers quickly, and you notice the tingling sensation is gone.
But now you’re surrounded by darkness. You’re lying on some sort of surface that feel relatively soft and smooth, and... paper-like? Also, everything is shaking, and you hear what appears to be a loud female voice humming. Your heart is racing. What’s going on here?
All of a sudden, light floods in, and you squint and gasp. You quickly glance around and take a look at where you are. It’s a shocking sight. You’re apparently inside some sort of large leather bag full of envelopes. Did you shrink and end up inside a giant mailbag?
You look up, seeing that the top of the bag is open. Then another shocking sight meets your eyes: you see a massive avian head come into view. It has gray feathers and some lighter-colored markings, and big blue eyes. The creature’s face looks adorable, but it’s also terrifying since it’s so huge. It’s like a giant eagle, and you’re like a tiny mouse. Hopefully it won’t gobble you up.
The creature’s blue eyes peer into the bag and easily spot you. The creature gasps, but then takes on a nervous expression. “Oh!” she says. “W-what are you? And how’d you get in there? Are you hurt? I hope I didn’t shake you around too much while I was walking and flying around! A-and when did you get in my bag? How long were you in there?”
You gulp. She certainly doesn’t seem hostile, but you’re still scared of her. You manage to reply, “I... I dunno. I just woke up here. I don’t know what’s going on...”
The creature frowns, and she says, “Okay, hold on. I’m gonna get you out of there.”
Her head moves away, and she seems to shift around, since you’re suddenly shaken around in the bag. You assume she’s getting into a better position to reach into her bag. After everything settles down, her head comes into view again, accompanied by a giant hand resembling a bird’s foot. The arm is covered in gray feathers, and the hand is covered in yellow scales, each finger tipped with a talon. You shudder, but decide to trust the creature for now. Her fingers gently curl around you, and the talons don’t hurt you at all. You’re lifted out of the bag and into the open, and held in front of the giant creature’s face.
You finally get a good look at her, and realize she seems to be a griffon. Her feathers and fur are all gray, and she wears a pair of saddlebags that apparently serve as mailbags. You’re shocked to see a mythical creature in the flesh. Did you get teleported into another world in addition to being shrunken? And if so, how can you get back home?
Also... will this griffon eat you?
The griffon curiously stares at you for a bit, and you continue to feel nervous about her. You still feel like a helpless little mouse trapped in the clutches of an enormous bird of prey. Fear is welling up in you. She looks so cute, and she sounded concerned about you earlier, but what if she suddenly decides you look tasty and devours you?
