Written for the Serial Killers 2024 event. Gotta be honest, I really thought demons would close it out.
"M3GAN? M3GAN?" A young girl’s voice called.
The android’s head swivelled to her left then down to you. Then to her left then down to you. Then to her left and down to you.
This went on for a while.
You thought it best you didn't interrupt this logic loop. Evidently it was morning again and your best bet was to tiptoe in Cady's direction.
Sadly for you, that broke M3GAN out of her processing.
You'd taken only a few steps before M3GAN's massive foot crashed down in front of you.
"Going somewhere?" She asked, head cocked to the side.
"Um... I..."
"M3GAN! There are you are."
The killer android stepped in over you, hiding your tiny form behind her feet.
"Hello Cady." She smiled, all trace of her murderous instincts gone.
"You ready to go?" Cady asked.
"For show and tell? Of course, just give me one moment." M3GAN said.
Cady accepted that without any complaint and headed off to get ready.
With deliberately slow movements, M3GAN turned back towards your tiny self.
"S-show and tell?" You stuttered.
"Yes. I am the exhibit. I imagine I will win." She said plainly.
"You... uh... you don’t really win at show and tell.” You tried to explain.
“Then they are doing it wrong." M3GAN said in her usual tone before a thought occurred to her.
"But I cannot leave you unattended."
"Oh, don't worry about me. I'll just stay here. Catch up on sleep." You tried to wave it off.
"You may sleep." M3GAN said. “But you must remain under guard. And a pocket is not ideal for a public setting.”
The android's gaze then drifted down to the shoes you were standing next to.
"Oh no." You thought.
With reflexes you could never hope to match, M3GAN reached down, pinching you between her left index and thumb as she lifted her right foot the absolute minimum amount she needed to.
"M3GAN. You don’t have to-"
You couldn't even finish your pleas for mercy before they were ignored, the murderous android dropping you into the darkness of her shoe.
"Acceptable." She boomed.
You didn't get a chance to say anything (not that M3GAN would have listened) as the giant android twisted on her heel and followed after Cady.
Your world rose for a moment and then you slammed back down. Then, before you could rest, her foot rose again and slammed itself back down.
With a sigh, you tried to get as comfortable as possible.
----
Though all told, it wasn't quite as bad as you feared it would be.
Sure M3GAN walking was an uncomfortable experience but whenever she was at rest, you could at least get in a half-nap as the death bot was more focused on playing with Cady than venting out her sadistic rage at you.
Hmm... maybe that was the ticket. Try and get M3GAN to play more and you could get Cady's attention during that time.
Then, as if she heard you, the giant android lifted her foot out of the shoe, pinching you between her fingers again as she balanced a drop of water on a free finger, holding it up to you.
"Drink." She said simply.
Seeing those cold unfeeling eyes on you, you decided against questioning. Plus, you were thirsty.
"Excellent. You are still alive. See you tonight."
"W... wait!" You said, not sure why. "Could I not go in the shoe?"
"Holding you in the shoe is ideal." M3GAN said clinically. "You are protected and out of sight."
"Sure. Sure. But... there would be other options wouldn't there?"
M3GAN cocked her head to the side as she processed that.
