This choice: Wally wakes up and starts crying again • Go Back... Artemis tried to cover her ears from Wally's constant crying.
"What the hell does he want?" Artemis yelled over Wally's crying.
"Shh Wally, don't cry, everything is ok," M'gann tried to sooth the boy again but to no avail this time.
"Ekam a eikooc raeppa ni ym dnah," Zatanna announced as a chocolate chip cookie manifested in her hand.
"Wally, please stop crying," M'gann pleaded as Wally continued to wail.
"Look Wally, I have a big chocolate chip cookie just for you," Zatanna cooed as she showed the toddler the cookie. Wally stopped crying and eyed the cookie for a moment before continuing to cry again. M'gann sat Wally down on the couch and kneeled down on the floor in front of him.
"What do you want Wally?" M'gann asked, "I can make you something to eat, what about your favourite brownies?" Wally didn't seem to stop crying as M'gann spoke.
"Me want Dick!" Wally shouted as he cried, everyone in the room froze and looked at Wally as he continued crying.
"You want what?" M'gann asked, seriously confused. Artemis burst out laughing at what Wally had said, that was not something she had expected to come out of a toddler's mouth.
"Me want Dick! Me want Dick!" Wally continued to cry. Suddenly M'gann was pushed out of the way as Robin brought Wally into a tight hug.
"It's ok pal, I'm here, shh, you're ok," Dick soothed the boy. Everyone watched as Wally stopped crying and curled into Robin's chest before falling asleep.
"Aren't you supposed to be asleep?" Zatanna asked.
"Between the crying toddler and Arty laughing there was no hope of that," Dick replied with a smirk.
"That was amazing Robin, how did you calm him down so quickly?" M'gann asked.
"I want Dick," Artemis recited, "he was talking about you, Dick's your real name isn't it?" Robin chuckled nervously.
"I guess Wally couldn't help spilling the beans as a toddler," Dick replied, "yeah, that's my name."
"Do we know how long this is going to last?" Dick asked as he sat at the table with everyone, a sleeping Wally on his lap.
"From what I know it could be permanent," Zatanna replied, Dick's eyes opened wide. "I may be able to find a spell to reverse the curse but I'm not entirely sure I have enough power to break something like this."
"What about Dr. Fate?" Kaldur asked, "could he return Wally to normal?"
"Maybe," Zatanna replied, a slight hint of venom in her voice, "but we have no way of contacting him."
"So we'll either have to figure this out on our own or wait for the Zeta Tubes to come back online," Artemis concluded.
"How hard could it be to take care of Wally for a day or two now that we have Robin here to calm him down?" M'gann asked. All of a sudden a foul smell filled the room, everyone turned to Robin would wore a slightly horrified, slightly disgusted expression.
"Did he just?" Artemis asked. Dick nodded.
"I think Wally and I should go take a shower," Dick stood up and walked out of the room with Wally, careful not to let any poo fall onto the floor.
"None of you would happen to have any diapers for toddlers handy?" Zatanna asked.
"Conner is at the skate park with Marvin and Mal," M'gann informed, "I could tell him to pick up some diapers for us."
"I thought none of us could go in or out of Mt. Justice," Zatanna replied.
"Conner has Sphere with him, he should be able to come in, but once he does he can't go back out so contact him quickly," Kaldur ordered.
"On it!" M'gann replied. She walked to a spacious part of the room and began floating as her eyes glowed green.
"Superboy, can you hear me?" She asked through a telepathic link. Conner watched as Marvin slid down the halfpipe and attempted to preform a 360 turn once in the air, to which he failed dramatically. Conner looked up as he heard M'gann's voice but soon realised it was a telepathic call.
"Yeah, I can hear you," he replied, "what's up?"
"Before you return to the cave I need you to go and buy some diapers for Wally, something that would fit a three year old," M'gann explained, Conner sat there for a moment, why in hell would Wally need diapers?
"I'm not even going to ask," he simply replied, "yeah, I'll get them."
"Hey Conner, check this out!" Marvin called over as he attempted another trick.
"You're gonna get yourself hurt!" Mal shouted to him.
"Awesome, don't forget the changing supplies and maybe some baby clothes as well," M'gann finished.
"No problem, love you," Conner replied as M'gann closed the link.
Wally stirred awake as Dick reached the bathroom.
"You up buddy?" Dick cooed, Wally looked up at Dick and smiled, he then sniffed the air as he face contorted.
"What's stinky?" he asked.
"Well, you kind of had an accident while you were sleeping buddy," Dick informed, Wally stayed quiet for a moment before beginning to tear up. "It's ok Wally, everyone has accidents from time to time." Dick quickly said before Wally could start crying.
"You don't," Wally reasoned, still upset.
"Yes but I'm a lot older than you are right now," Dick replied. He turned to shower on before stripping down and stepping in with Wally, he made sure to wash Wally thoroughly before washing himself. Once he was finished he dried Wally and wrapped the towel around his waist in a similar fashion to a diaper, luckily for him Wally didn't seem to have noticed. He then grabbed his own towel and dried himself before taking Wally's hand and walking with him to his room to get into new clothes.
"Dick, are you mad at me for being thwee and going poo poo?" Wally asked, looking at the ground ashamed.
"What? I would never be mad at you," Dick replied, he knelt down and placed a hand on the boy's shoulder. "You're my bro, I wouldn't be made even if you snuck into my bed at night and accidentally pooped." Wally giggled. "I care for you Wally so don't ever forget that." Wally hugged Dick tightly before allowing Dick to finish getting dressed. Dick lead Wally into the lounge room where Conner had returned, he looked at Wally and nodded, now understanding why M'gann wanted diapers for Wally.
"What's in the bag?" Wally asked pointing at the plastic bags Conner was holding.
"These are things I got for you," Conner informed.
"Weally?" Wally asked excited. Wally's face dropped when he saw what was in the bag.  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
