The next day, Phineas managed to get through the beginning preparations for living at the Citadel once more. Once again at Kunok Quarters, he was paired up with some freshman named Fredrick, though he seemed a bit bland for a Wizard planning on studying transmutation magic.
Within this first day, things were relatively slow for Phineas. All he really had to do was go to his new classes and introduce himself, and once that was done they were given simple first assignments that they could get done in a few minutes before being sent off. Since most were just pen and paper assignments and not actual spell casting Phineas actually did pretty well, something he was glad for.
After all of his classes were done though, Phineas headed off to the Citadel Library, wanting to meet up with all of his friends once more. Arriving at the library, his first sight was of the librarian, Lyna Hessie, sleeping on her job. The fact that she was actually frightened him a bit, as he hastily walked away and towards the various tables to look for his friends.
Out of all of the staff in the Citadel, Lyna was probably the most effective at her job. She was extremely capable with transforming the landscape to her whims, but the way she did this was through sending her soul out of her body and casting high-level earth magic, in order to stop any troublemakers or thieves from messing with the library,
All of this sleeping left her with little time for exercise however, leading to her actual body being somewhat fat, with a large gut and a titanic rear. If he wasn’t so afraid of her, Phineas admitted he would be a bit attracted to her, but having seen what she can do during his first year, he knew to stay away.
Thankfully, his friends were not far off, and as Phineas approached his friends, he waved a bit. “Hey Mei! Nicholas! Luanne! Glad your all here!”
Taking a seat down, Phineas looked around at each of his friends as they waved back. Mei was dressed up in a miniature version of the school uniform more fitted for her size, and was currently chewing on a slice of bacon that she had grabbed for an early dinner, that was nearly a half of her size thanks to her own height.
Nicholas meanwhile was reading a book about magical items, as he was focused on advanced studying. Being a year senior, Nicholas had helped Phineas and Mei both get used to life in the Citadel, and served as a role model student for the two of them, while juggling duties as a RA for Wrocklehurst Cellar. On top of that, he even managed to help Phineas with classes, something the younger Wizard thanked him for.
Lastly was Luanne Dis, a cleric around the same age as Phineas and Mei, but from Vinixivue Tower. A sort of black sheep among the elite, Luanne much preferred the company of Kunok Quarters, though she was forced into the Tower every year by her parents. She was rather tall and had a great hourglass figure accounting to her years of training to take care of magical beasts, but instead of a gut her lower chest was toned much to Phineas’s disappointment.
Under different circumstances, this group probably would never have formed, but their lives were better with each other than without. Among them, Nicholas shared Phineas’s want to improve himself, Mei shared his desire to make friends, and Luanne shared his love for fat women, being one of the few people who knew about his desires and apparently showing a love as well.
Of course, neither Mei nor Nicholas knew about this, but they probably wouldn’t care. Still though, both Phineas and Luanne cared about their public images, so they hid this from the rest of the group.
“Yo, hey Phineas!” Luanne said, sliding a can of soda across the table for Phineas, the less experienced Wizard barely able to catch it. “So, how was your summer?”
“Well, it wasn’t that eventful...” Phineas admitted. To everyone in the friend group, they all knew of Phineas’s lack of magical talent, and weren’t surprised. “Still living under my brother’s shadows... but I’ve at least learned how to create some potions. How was all of yours?”
“Same.” Nicholas said, shrugging. “Life’s a bit boring I back home, believe it or not. Nothing much going on in my family aside from my father helping make a new sword for the head of the Margot family.”
“Mine was somewhat eventful at the least.” Luanne admitted, sliding a egg the size of a bowling ball from her pocket. “My family’s hydra laid a egg, so I gotta take care of it, make sure it hatches properly. Should be a bit over a month before it hatches though...”
“Woah, be careful!” Mei said, stepping back a bit from the Hydra egg. “You know I’m allergic to hydras!”
“Oh yeah...” Luanne said, sliding it back into her jacket, right into a Bag of Holding she kept all of her animal care tools in. “Don’t worry, I won’t bring it here then. Don’t want little Mei here to get all stuffy...”
“Be nice to me...”
“Speaking of which...” Nicholas stated, looking down at Mei. “How was your summer?”
“Well, to be honest... it was a bit tough. Having to move constantly really makes it hard to keep up summer studies, and we’ve had to make some hard decisions...”
With most of her family being Inchling, Mei’s mother constantly had to move from home to home, often moving so non-magical folk didn’t notice her or her family. Of course, she didn’t really like that she had to move a lot at all, but her mother was of a more conservative mindset, still thinking that the worlds of magic and non-magic should stay separate.
“Yeah, I get it...” Phineas said, reaching into his pocket and breaking off a small enough piece of chocolate for her to fit into her mouth. “But hey, at least here you always have a place to anchor yourself!”
“Aw, thanks! Though I do wish I had a better roommate...”
“Really?” Luanne said, sipping a bit of soda and letting the taste settle in her throat. “Who’s your room mate?”
“Some large Scandinavian woman, named Freya. She’s a nice person, but she’s a bit slow minded and sometimes forgot where I was sometimes. At least with you Phineas you managed to keep sight of me most of the time, but I feel like it’ll take her a while before that happens...”
“Freya? You should be happy! I mean she’s definitely a bit big, but she’s also one of the most fit students beneath all of that blubber!”
Talking a bit about Freya, Luanne’s face blushed as she commented on Freya’s blubber. While she admired her more for said fat than her strength, she knew that her strong nature probably could make Mei feel a bit better, since she could wonder if Freya was able to protect her that way.
“I guess that’s somewhat of a boon, but I guess I prefer people who understand my problems instead of someone who’s just focused on their own lives...”
Taking another big bite from her slice of bacon after swallowing her mouthful of chocolate, Phineas saw a tiny bulge on the Inchling’s belly, as she began to get full and lie on the back of her minuscule chair. If she had kept up this kind of eating, she was certainly going to gain a few ounces...
“So guys, now that we’ve talked about how our summers went...” Luanne said, interrupting Phineas’s focus. “How about we discuss something I think you’ll all be excited for...”
“Hmm?” Phineas stated, as everyone turned to Luanne.
“Well...”
