Chapter #6Someone else is shrunk at the party, continued... by: gemini, adrift Okay, here are some more options...
Choice 1: Pamela, a best friend of Derek's mother, Debbie, and a nearby neighbor, who came by after she was disturbed by all the parked cars outside the house and the noise of the party that was disturbing the peace. While Pamela was very fond of Debbie, the stern Chinese-American woman was not so fond of Pamela's family, and thought that her friend went too easy on the Jordan children. Steve also tended to get on Pamela's nerves, though she really wasn't all the fond of the general vibe of white suburbia in general. She was there to shut down the party, but the size ray shut her down instead...
Choice 2: Derek didn't know Tina; Tina was friends with Lauren, a classmate of Claire's - and even those two were just casual friends, but hey, a party was a party. At first Tina didn't want to go. As a young African American woman, she was a little weary of going to a party where she would be the only person of color in the room. But the idea of a costume party sounded fun, and Lauren further tempted Tina by letting her know that her crush, Chase, the star quarterback on the football team, was going to be there. Chase and Tina had only talked a few times at school, but he was a total hunk and she couldn't stop thinking about him. So Tina went; Lauren dressed up like a punk-rocking goth. Tina, meanwhile, was quite the nerd, and thought that ants were cool, and decided to show up to the party in a rather elaborate ant costume. It seemed like a neat idea to her and she had a lot of fun making it, but it might not be the best decision in hindsight, considering the size ray just struck her...
