Last week, Nicole got herself into some trouble in class. She got caught texting her friends while Ms. Evans gave a horribly boring lecture, so the middle aged woman took her phone away and locked it in her desk. Which is completely unfair! Does she realize how boring her lectures are?! Maybe if she put in some real effort, her students wouldn't need to find other ways to fill the time!
It's been too long since she's had her phone. It was driving her insane! This was cruel and unusual punishment! So she took the size ray from her father, and knew she could use it to get her phone back.
At first, she thought about shrinking Ms. Evans and simply taking it back. But if she had the key on her, then it would shrink with her. And trying to intimidate her probably wouldn't work so well either.
So she thought up a new plan. After class was over, she would shrink herself. Then she would sneak into Ms. Evan's desk and retrieve her phone. Easy!
Nicole went to school with that in mind, resisting every urge she had to use the shrink ray. And there were SO many opportunities to use it for fun. But she showed restraint, not wanting to sabotage her chances of pulling this heist unspotted.
Ms. Evan droned on again today, shooting a couple glares at Nicole throughout class. It genuinely seemed like she hated kids. Especially trouble makers like Nicole. But the young girl ignored it and stayed quiet the entire time.
As the bell rung, the entire class got up to leave the room. Everyone, except Nicole. During the chaos, she pointed the shrink ray and fired. The world seemed to grow huge around her as she shrunk down to a 1/2inch tall. Small enough to avoid detection from most.
However, the shrink ray did make a flash of light. And even during the rush, someone noticed. Who saw Nicole shrink?
