Nicole puts the ray gun in her purse, closes the door and runs out the house as fast as her slender legs can carry her. Dressed in a short dark colored dress, the young teenage girl walks over to a house three homes away from her own and knocks on the door. As she knocks on the front door a lovely thirty-five year old woman with medium length blonde hair answers. “Hello Nicole, can I help you?” Amanda Carson asks.
“Can Alex come out, he is my study buddy for science class and, we are suppose to go around the neighborhood today collecting insects for our bug collection.” Nicole asks grinning excitedly. She was so happy that her teacher made Alex her partner for science class. At the same-time, Amanda calls out to Alex to come downstairs as she giggles a bit knowing full well that Nicole has had a crush on her son sense they were both nine, and to Amanda's amusement, he has had one on Nicole for just as long. It’s just they both are a bit timid when it comes to matters of the heart.
Alex ran over to the door and greets Nicole with a smile. “Hi, you got the equipment, box, net and jars along with the other stuff?”
“Sure do,” Nicole responds with a smirk.
“Than lets go explore and get us some bugs,” Alex says nervously.
The two thirteen year old’s walk away from the house, and turn around, waving buy to Amanda as she waves back. A few minutes later, the young couple stops near a backyard of old man Kruger, the neighborhood loon and Bogs river that runs through town. “Why did we stop here, the river is that way,” Alex asks.
“I have something to show you,” and Nicole pulls out what looks like a toy ray gun but more realistic. Alex looks at it curiously, and says, “nice ray gun there,” while looking at her puzzled.
“No you don’t understand, its a size alternating device,” she says.
“A what?” he says even more puzzled.
“Here let me show you,” Nicole points the ray gun at a squirrel and shoots. Within seconds the animal becomes the size of a cow. Alex looks astonished just as Nicole reduces the creature back to normal. She than points the ray gun at an old boat near the river and fires. Within seconds the boat reduces in size to a foot long. Alex runs over to it and examines the old vessel. “This cannot be real, but here it is, now the size of a toy,” he says shocked. “Can we shrink people?” he asks.
“I believe it can,” she says with a grin. Meanwhile, old man Kruger saw both test and thought to himself, “The aliens will want their gun back, if I give them their gun back along with a few human specimens they might leave me alone? Those two would make lovely specimens,” as he giggles like a crazy man. Weird thing is, he may not be totally crazy.
As the young couple get closer to the river, they decide too?
