While Chara was sleeping peacefully (as peacefully as you can with some monsters snoring loudly in the room beside yours), she remembered when Sans and her were friends. They had almost nothing in common except they would look out for their brothers and they both REALLY hated humanity. So anyway, it was about 190 years ago in capital, New Home. It was actually Papyrus, which was 4 at the time, that was the one who helped Chara (10 yo) and Sans (10 yo) become friends. Apparently Papyrus has a innate ability to make everyone his friend (or find him very irritating), possibly this "ability" was caused by Sans. He is very intimidating, even with his pathetic stats, which were at the time, ATK 1 DEF 3. Actually his one saving grace was his HP of 200, which is currently 1. Now she thinks about it, they did have one other thing in common: if ANYONE hurts their brother, physically or mentally, the monster/monsters responsible will wish they were never born. Both were forces to be reckoned with (Sans had very powerful magic and Chara was highly skilled with knives in combat [not to the mention, her favorite activities ALWAYS had something to do with knives). On to the story: It was a just average, boring day in the Underground, the adopted Princess Chara was sitting against one of the many fountains in New Home, enjoying one of her favorite activities of sharpening kitchen knives (those were the only kinds of knives she was allowed near, let alone touch) remembering the day when she jumped down Mt. Ebott to try and kill herself. Emphasis on try, obviously she failed. Her thoughts were interrupted by a bipedal goat monster yelling her name, while more or less dragging a small skeleton. "Hey, Chara! I made a new friend and wanted you to meet him!" The human in a green sweater sighed and put the partially sharpened knife in a pile next to her, sounding annoyed, "Who is it, Azzy? Is it that poor skeleton you are dragging after you?" "HELLO HUMAN PRINCESS CHARA! I AM THE GREAT PAPYRUS!" said the skeleton with a scarf, the human girl made a pained face and asked, rubbing her temples, "Do you have to yell? You've said just TWO sentences and I'm already getting a headache." She looked around for a bag that she had brought the knives and sharpening tools in. After looking around for a minute, she finally found it underneath the pile of knives. She started rummaging through it, muttering to herself, "Where are they? No..no..oh! There they are!" Taking out a couple chocolate bars from the bag. Papyrus looked over to Asreil with a confused expression on his skull, and asked, "WHY WERE YOU TRYING TO FIND THOSE, IF YOU HAVE A HEADACHE? DO YOU KNOW WHY PRINCE ASREIL?" "She claims that sugar helps get rid of her headaches." explained Asreil (11 yo), then he whispered, "But I think the only thing that the chocolate helps with is to make her grow fatter." Chara glared at her adoptive brother, silently agreeing with him and said, "I'm not fat. Yes, I have gained some weight since I fell, but I was deathly thin." Chara's rosy cheeks were a darker red than usual, indicating that she was blushing because she knew was fat. They both were telling the truth, she was gaining weight from eating chocolate bars and she had been extremely thin when she fell (the reason why Chara was so thin was because her human family had been starving her, as well as abusing her (forcing her to cut herself. She still had dozens of scars to prove it) just because of her red eyes. In her village at the base of Mt. Ebott, red eyes = demon, simple as that. After the chocolate addict finished her chocolate, Papyrus asked her, "CAN YOU BECOME MY FRIEND?" Chara was about to say no, but Asreil stopped her and said quietly, "Just say yes, even if you don't mean it." Then the monster explained, "Have you heard about Sans?" Chara nodded, anyone who is anyone has heard about Sans and how protective of his brother. "Well Papyrus is his brother." "Okay, I'll be your friend, but PLEASE talk a little quieter." If the skeleton could smile any bigger, he would have. "YAY! MORE FRIENDS!" Then he remembers what Chara asked him to do, or at least around her. "Oh, sorry. I forgot." Then he remembers something else, "Um what time is it?" Chara tells him, Papyrus looked panicked and quickly said, "Farewell, your highness!" He waved as he ran off towards the home of the Royal Scientist, Dr. Wing Dings Gaster. While Chara was gathering up the knives and tools and putting them in a brown leather duffel bag she asked her brother, "Did you know that Dr. Gaster had any children?" "No, but we should've known that they were related to him. I mean they're the ONLY skeletons in the entire Underground." Asreil said, shrugging. "Well, we should get back home before we get into trouble." "Yeah. By the way, you didn't need to mention my weight to Papyrus." the fat human child complained. Half a hour later, the two Dreemurr children got to their house. "We made it before dinner." said Asreil breathing heavily, looking over at Chara. Chara was looking over to her left with a scared expression. Toreil was looked livid, anger and concern were warring in her red eyes. "Where were you? I told you two to be back here a HOUR ago." "We -" Chara started, Toreil cut her off saying, "And don't lie to me, young lady." "W-we just forgot what time you wanted to come home." Asreil stuttered. "We met the younger of the two sons of Dr. Gaster today." Chara said, trying to change the subject, "I didn't know that he had any kids." "Speaking of Gaster, he will be coming to the castle to accompany your father and I, so we can find a alternate source of power to break the Barrier other than souls." the queen of monsters informed her children, "Sans and Papyrus will be staying with you for a couple of days." "When will they arrive?" Asreil asked excitedly, then his face fell and asked, "What will be our punishment?" "Nothing They'll be here in a week or so." Toreil said, then she turned around and walked back inside saying, "Aren't you coming? Or are you not hungry?" Chara suddenly shot past her goat mom, saying "I'm very hungry!" Asreil and Toreil laughed, then they followed the hungry girl. 3 days later, Sans came with Papyrus to meet his new friends. Asreil and Papyrus decided to meet at the fountain that the skeleton with the scarf met Chara. Papyrus ran ahead of Sans to Asreil and his meeting spot, while Sans was leisurely walking after his little brother. Sans stopped cold in his tracks when he saw a human girl sharpening knives at the stone fountain with a chocolate bar in her mouth. His left eye began to glow teal with flashes of yellow suddenly he yelled to the smaller skeleton, "bro! get away from there! there's a dangerous human!" "WHAT? WHERE?" Papyrus called back to Sans, confused. Sans disappeared in a blue flash and appeared in front of Chara, which jumped and the partially eaten chocolate bar dropped from her mouth in surprise of a skeleton in a blue jacket appearing in front of her. "Hey! Don't do that! I almost cut my thumb off!" Chara yelled at Sans, "and you made me drop my chocolate!" "can you stop yelling? and you stay away from my bro?" Sans said irritated, he slowly breathed in and out to calm himself, "okay, i'm here to meet my bro's two new friends. i see one monster and a despicable human, where is the other one? did you dust them?" "WHAT?! I would NEVER do that!" she exploded (lumping her in with the rest of humanity, was one of the worst things that you could do to Chara), "and that's your highness." Sans burst into laughter, "a human? part of monster royalty? don't make me laugh!" He continued to laugh harder and harder until he heard Papyrus call his name. "Sans, Human Princess Chara is not lying. And they're my other friend I wanted to meet." "paps, this can't be chara, i mean princess chara, she's a lot thinner than this human scum." After Sans said that the princess was a lot thinner than Chara was, he poked the pale skin of Chara's belly that stuck out from beneath her stretched out green sweater. "DON'T CALL MY FRIEND/ SISTER THAT!" Papyrus and Asreil yelled at Sans angrily. "I WON'T APOLOGIZE TO SOME HUMAN! " Sans yelled back, his left eye glowing brightly. "WELL I WOULDN'T FORGIVE A BONEHEAD LIKE YOU EVEN IF I AGREE WITH YOU ABOUT HUMANITY!" Chara yelled, throwing a knife down at the stone ground. Sans sighed in frustration, "we don't need to be friends or anything, but we will need to figure out a way to at least tolerate each other for at most 3 days while our parents are off trying to find a way to break the barrier. truce?" Sans held out his skeletal hand for her to shake. The girl with the pale complexion hesitated for a second or two and then shook Sans's hand. There was a farting noise when Chara put her hand in Sans's. "What the f**k?" The girl swore. "Haven't you heard about the old whoopie cushion in the hand trick?" Sans asked, chuckling while Papyrus was skull palming and Asreil was berating Chara about swearing. "See you in a couple of days, Papyrus and infuriating bonehead." Chara said, miffed. In 5 days, Chara heard a loud voice say, "HELLO PRINCE ASREIL! MAY WE COME IN?" Chara sighed and went back to reading a book that was about the history of the monster kingdom before it was banished to the Underground, while eating a chocolate bar. If she was bored, she would sharpen the castle's kitchen's knives, but they were probably sharp enough to cut through stone like butter (she was exaggerating about how sharp she had made them), so there was reading boring books, tease Asreil, or sleep. About 20 minutes later, she same voice, "WHERE IS HUMAN PRINCESS CHARA? SANS WANTS TO TELL HER SOMETHING." She heard her brother say, his voice was very faint (there was 1 or 2 thick stone walls between him and her), "I think she's in here reading." "I heard what you said and I am not in the mood to talk to him." Chara said angrily, Chara had a very short temper when she was bored. TBC
