Thanks to Lukas, you had a new angle for investigating. Leaving him at the house, you headed out to check into some ideas you had.
Unfortunately you weren't having much luck with your investigation. Sure you had a few leads to follow up but even those were coming up dead ends.
You were staking out an area you had been tipped off to the previous day. And so far it was looking like a bust. That was until you saw a crimson dragon walking around. He carried a cage in his right hand, and there was no mistaking it, it was full of humans. You took a few pictures to have evidence. Before you could get the jump on him, you saw the most startling bit to the case's development.
Your partner, the green dragon walked up to the crimson dragon. You couldn't hear what was being said but you made certain to take a couple of pictures for evidence.
You rushed in, and easily managed to beat down both suspects before taking them into custody. Your boss at the agency looked over the evidence the moment you were back at the agency. He handled all the paperwork and told you to take some time to rest.
Upon returning to your house, you saw the door was kicked in. You rushed inside and to your horror, everything was thrown about. You could smell Lukas' blood and rushed to locate him. As you darted to the next room over, you were hit hard over the head and fell to the ground.
"Morgan Ebonscald, is it?" you heard someone ask. Your vision was fading in and out as was your hearing. "Let me make this abundantly clear, you try anything, you make a move on my business, you try anything to my boys, and I'll make sure your put through such a hell, that you'll wish you were dead." A large midnight purple dragon said. He towered over you and kicked you a few times in the stomach before slamming your face against the floor.
You barely heard Lukas scream, and tried to get up. A kick to your cheek sent you to the ground and three more kicks to your stomach and face, left you barely able to stay conscious. You soon blanked out.

When you awoke hours later, you were alone. You dragged yourself to your phone that had fallen out of your pocket during everything. The screen was badly damaged but it still worked. You managed to call for help but the damage was done. Lukas was the latest on the missing persons reports.
Due to your personal feelings being a liability to the investigation, you were pulled from such and left to do standard in office work. Paperwork.
