You nervously mention to your ogre babysitter that you like to hang out around town. She smiles widely and pats her hands together, “Oh, I’m liking you more than your little brother already. Most kids hate going outside, but you! You like going outside and living life. How about we go to my side of town and we can explore it together. I doubt you’ve ever been there.” You curiously ask, “Where?” Onra giggled, “The monster world silly.” You weren’t sure if you wanted to go there, but Onra didn’t offer much of a choice as she rubbed her palms together and then snapped her fingers.
You were both consumed by a blinding light. As the light faded you looked around and saw a gloomy neighborhood. It was nighttime, there were clouds slightly covering a full moon, dimly lit streetlights were on every corner and ever house and building looks like your stereotypical haunt from the horror movies. Onra waved her hands around, “Walla! The Land of Monsters. I bet you’re so excited.” You were definitely not excited. If Onra could swallow up your little brother, you could only imagine all the other creatures skulking around here that would love to turn you into their snack. You lightly tug on Onra’s pant leg, “C-could we go home now? I’ve seen enough.”
Onra chuckled and ruffled your hair, “Don’t be such a scaredy cat. There’s nothing to fear. We monsters don’t act like you human’s portray us in the movies. We’re a pretty calm and nice bunch, for the most part.” Her huge, muscular hand wrapped around your arm as she tugged you along with her, “Come on, I’ve got so much to show you.” Onra, happily strolls down the dark and eerie street as she forcibly pulls you along with her. You look around both in fear and curiosity. Onra was right, this was a much different world to your own, but you’d rather just take a postcard and head home.
