Celica was cut off from what should have been a straight path to Saber's side by the sudden appearance of a wizard. Magic circles manifested out of thin air, then split up and down vertically, before finally the magic-user himself beamed into being. He'd used his magic to appear right in front of her out of nowhere, a warp spell. The sorcerer in question was rather large and rotund, his face and whole body covered in dark sheets of clothes, giving him an unmistakably mysterious and creepy aura.
There's no time for this! I need to get to Saber! Celica thought, biting her lip as she slowed her approach, watching the mage carefully. She was no stranger to magic, able to wield the phenomenon herself. It was because of this knowledge she had of the arcane arts that made her become extremely cautious around the new foe. But thinking about it further, Celica had to wonder just when pirates started recruiting wizards to fight. She always just assumed they preferred brute force.
"Hah!" The mage shouted, raising his arms he unleashed an attacking spell. Dark energy flowed from his hands, bound up like a short spear it hurled at Celica. The redhead priestess dodged swiftly, but just narrowly avoided the spell.
"Raaahh!" Celica yelled, lunging for the sorcerer with her sword thrust forward. She thought she'd be able to end this quickly after the magic-using pirate's spell missed, and so immediately went in for the finishing blow.
Celica's sword cut through the man's large cloak. For a split second she felt like she'd cut the man's flesh, but then realized that it was merely the cloth that had been cleaved through. For some reason, this mage was wearing a cloak that was much larger than his actual body, perhaps to trick any would-be attackers into missing his apparently thin body?
That's when the mage suddenly snapped his fingers and the circles of magic from a warp spell appeared and surrounded both him and Celica. They closed around the two, and in the next instant Celica felt herself being whisked away along with the mysterious mage. Celica tried to pull her sword out of the ripped clothing, but found it stuck in the folds. She could not get it out in time.
"Noo!" Celica cried out just before she disappeared from the ship, cruelly snatched away from her allies when they needed her the most. The area Celica and the sorcerer were at looked as if nothing had happened. Indeed, the whole series of events played out so quickly that none of Celica's friends had seen her caught in the warp spell, let alone be in the fight with the magic-user in the first place.
