Yang had been having some trouble sleeping with upcoming exams at Beacon, and the stresses of constantly having to fight off the various nut-jobs who often threatened both her and her friends. She was getting annoyed with it, and so were her friends. In fact, Yang had been nodding off during training, in class, and at lunch.
The group all tossed around ideas for what Yang could do. Sleeping pills, yoga, so many options which either didn't work, or Yang didn't want to do. Eventually Blake made a suggestion... of Hypnosis. Yang was obviously skeptical, and was concerned it wouldn't work if others were around.
Her friends decided to take a night out, staying at a hotel rather than in their room so that Yang had the tranquility she needed to give hypnosis a shot.
She sat down early in the evening after her friends had cleared out, dressed in her pajamas and ready to wind down. She scrolled through a few pages of videos, trying to find one that caught her attention. None seemed more or less reliable than others by the title or thumbnail so eventually she just made a decision and clicked.
The video began and a black and white spiral appeared on the screen, as well as some white noise that wasn't annoying, but was definitely noticeable. Yang sat and watched the spiral for a while, not really thinking it was working. But she found herself unable to pull her eyes from the screen. Unable to stop watching.
The video continued for about 15 minutes, but to Yang it felt only like a few seconds. Eventually her eyes drifted shut and she slumped down into the chair.
The video counted down to it's final minute and the white noise cleared. A relaxed, velvety, male voice came out over the speaker.
"If you can hear me, and you are in a trance right now, please open your eyes and look back at the screen but remain in this trance."
Yang's eyes slowly opened, revealing their glazed over, blankened state. She looked back at the screen.
"Good. Now, when this video ends you will go to my channel and select any other video I have. You will not select this one again, nor will you select any you have already watched in the future. When that video begins you will hear my voice again and you will follow my commands." the voice said. As the words stopped, so did the video.
Yang's hand moved to the mouse. She clicked around on the owner of the video's profile, scanning and clicking with the tenacity and focus of a robot. Her mind not really doing any real reasoning when she picked her next video. Whichever it was that would give her commands.
Eventually, however, the hypnotized blonde settled on one video with the title of...  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
