Jaune decided that enough was enough for now. He’d done as Weiss asked, and taking advantage of her here wouldn’t really be right. That decision made, he began to bring Weiss out of trance. “First,” he said. “Set down your sword, then sit down.” Weiss complied, placing the weapon between them as she at with her legs crossed before him.
“Now go to sleep.” Immediately, the girl’s face relaxed, her eyes rolled back, and her head dipped forward. “In just a moment I’m going to count down from three to zero, Weiss,” Jaune said in a soothing tone. “When I reach zero, you’ll wake from trance, having full control of your thoughts and actions again. You’ll feel relaxed, happy, and recharged; you’ll feel like you’ve had the best nap of your life.”
Jaune almost began the countdown, but then he had one last thought. “Oh, and you’ll remember everything about the trance, except the parts after I waved my hand, and before I told you to make the ballerina. You’ll forget all the commands I gave except the ballerina one, understand?”
“Yes,” Weiss said blankly. “Only the ballerina.”
“Good girl,” Jaune said quietly. After all, the last thing he wanted was Weiss to remember posing like that. With that out of the way, he began the countdown.
“Three: you’re feeling warm and happy.”
She began to smile softly.
“Two: you’re beginning to have some thoughts again.”
Jaune saw her eyelids begin to twitch.
“One: you’re beginning to remember yourself.”
Her head began to move slightly.
“Zero: feeling wide awake and refreshed.”
Weiss’ eyes opened slowly, and her arms lifted over her head as she stretched, a pleased sigh escaping her mouth.
“How did it feel?” Jaune asked with a small smile. He already knew the answer.
It was… acceptable,” Weiss muttered begrudgingly as she took Mrytenaster and regained her feet. “I’m more impressed with how focused I was. Everything just felt… right.”
“It’s not all turning people into chickens Weiss,” Jaune joked, standing himself. “Hypnosis can be pretty handy if used right.”
Weiss raised her rapier up, then swiped it back down as another swirl of dust and ice sprang into existence. A moment later there was another ballerina at their feet, but this one didn’t resemble Weiss.
“I’m beginning to see that,” Weiss breathed, the ghost of a smile on her face before it was replaced with her usual haughty look. “Looks like even you can be useful in the correct scenario. Thank you, Jaune.”
She added, just a bit softer.
Jaune bristled a bit, but accepted the backhanded compliment with a small smile.
“Any time, Weiss,” he said as they left.
