The thumps of the balls echoed through the auditorium. Coach Eliza Hartley was watching as her players ran drills up and down the court. She was pleased to see how hard the sophomores were working, and how their skills had improved since placing dead last the previous year. It wasn't like they had no drive. The girls were good enough, but they were unable to physically match the other teams.
Entering the spacious courtroom, Justin jumped as the whistle blew. The ten girls practicing came to a halt as their coach called out, "Okay ladies, we'll take a five minute break. In the meantime I'd like you all to meet Justin who has something he would like to share with us. He is the best student in school and has volunteered to help the team enhance its position by the finals."
With his heavy bag slung over one shoulder, Justin entered the middle of the gym and was surrounded by players who were at least eye height or taller. Justin cleared his throat, pushing his glasses back up his nose as he did so. "So...ah...yeah...hi everyone. I'm Justin."
A few of the girls giggled while others rolled their eyes at his nervousness. "I've been working on something that I think will really help the team in the upcoming games. I'd like to start by giving each of you a small sample to try. It's a sports drink. I made it myself."
As the players looked on towards him, Justin opened his bag to see the many bottles of colorful liquid he'd packed in earlier.
