This choice: Link and the legend of kisses • Go Back... Link awoke on what should've been any other lax afternoon in the sleepy little hollow of the peaceful forest he and the rest of his Kokiri kin called home. But instead of waking to the calming sound of rustling leaves and quiet bird calls, an unfamiliar, yet unmistakably feminine voice alerted the spry young man.
"Wake up, you lazy boy! Honestly, how could the hero the Great Deku Tree needs be such a...a...wow..."
He blinks--not only out of confusion and a desire to get the fresh sand out of his eyes, but because of what that strange voice said. Hero? Him? This boring day just got a LOT more interesting! He looks around, finding nothing. Huffing, he searches some more. Still nothing!
"C-come to mama...~"
Oh great. Was this some kind of prank by one of the other Kokiri? Sounds like a prank Mido would do--or a prank he'd put someone else up to at the threat of expelling them from the forest. But, no...this voice wasn't nasally, like his. Nor was it the kind of feminine he'd expect from any of the Kokiri girls (or an imitation that any of the boys could reasonably keep up for more than a second at most before hacking their lungs out). So, who could've--?
Link's thought process was interrupted by the feeling of something--no, someone darting past his belt. He bursts out laughing when two soft, light, almost feathery objects start brushing against his lower belly. Then lower, and lower, until it stopped...feeling...so ticklish...
A muted gasp forces its way out of the nubile Kokiri's mouth as hot, alien tingling spread quickly throughout his nethers. He froze. Nothing came to mind on what he should do, even with such a foreign, uncomfortable sensation taking over his thoughts, so he stayed like that while whatever crawled around down there did so without pause or resistance. All that he could figure is that it actually felt kind of familiar. He recalled it being something which happened when Saria was being particularly affectionate. She'd sometimes put him in her lap and run her fingers across his shoulders and chest, complimenting him on how much he had trained, whispering into his ear about how he'd grown so well. In fact, now that his brain was stuck on those weirdly appealing images, it was happening again. It mixed in with the present pleasure so enticingly...
Soon, it became less general and more concentrated on specific points, soft, yet powerful, cool, yet hot, lasting but a fleeting moment, yet feeling like it stayed for ages. There was a suction, like firm kisses being pressed into his skin, that made his knees buckle to the floor, and left him panting like a dog.
But then, right as it started, it stopped. The thing that found its way in, found its way out. The fact that he still didn't know was pretty disturbing to the apparent hero--and yet, in the pleasantly frazzled state he's in, he can't bring himself to care.
Luckily, his pressing question was answered as it floated up mere inches away from his face. The dopey smile on his lips was replaced by an open-mouthed gape once he realized what 'it' was:
A Fairy! Bright pink, unlike the others of her kind, but a fairy nonetheless!
Even as his enthusiasm was about to get the better of him, Link kept alert. She made him feel all strange. Was she really a messenger from the Great Deku Tree himself? Or was she some kind of spy? Either one excited him to no end.
When he pressed her on it, she turned a darker hue than the rose tint she was already glimmering with.
"A-ah, don't worry, Link! I was just, uhhhh," she stops, growing yet another fuller shade of pink, "checking your fitness, y-you know, for the journey you're going on! You passed with flying colors!"
Any reasonable doubt in his mind shattered at the mention of one, single word: journey. The Kokiri weren't allowed outside, and he was no exception--but, maybe, now he was...? A journey sounds like way more than a simple trip to the village's protector and back. This might be his chance! He could finally see more than the same old greenery he'd always seen up to this point; he could even travel to see those rock-eaters, those Gorons who were only talked about in fairy tales the bored, magical guardians would weave to the boys and girls when things were particularly stale around here.
"I can see you're eager about this, so c'mon, Link! Let's go over to the Great Deku Tree! Just...d-don't mention the little check-up I did on you. He finds that kind of stuff boring--a-and you would want to bore your elder, would you?"
Link nods a bit too keenly.
"Alright, I'll lead the way. Oh, silly me, I almost forgot. The name's Navi!"
Navi...he smiles. That's a nice name.
Now that she mentions it, where was she? The boy squints, but can't find hide nor hair of the fairy anywhere. All he can sense is--
Sighing, the hero taps at an itch at his slightly present abs. Navi shrieks, now magenta as a Kokiri sunset. "A-a-ahh, my bad! I won't waste any more of our time, trust me!"
This time, she actually leads the way.

Link and Navi soon arrive at the Great Deku Tree's sanctum. The latter had turned a bright blue, something that perplexed the former just enough to pique his curiosity, yet too little to push him to dare ask. They had already wasted so much time, after all...
"Link. Navi. I have called thee here in front of me today for a reason of grave import. Normally, Kokiri Forest's natural magic is enough to stave off any malevolence which seeks to plague us. However, as of recent, I, the Great Deku Tree, have fallen ill with a curse. I fear a new evil strong enough to puncture our defenses has finally arrived, and is currently in the works of smothering our world in its darkness, starting with me."
The young blonde gasps in shock, then clenches his fists, already determined to set things right.
"My boy, your assistance is vital to the survival of both myself and the whole of the forest. I need you to cleanse me of this curse from the inside. Will you brave the trials ahead, for all our sakes?"
He didn't even need to ask; Link's focused expression said it all.
The elder tree sighs in relief. "Good. I wish you the best of luck."
"...Err, and, afterwards...I have something to tell you about a curse of your own," the overgrown oak pauses awkwardly, "though you may well find out what it entails before you return. Truthfully, you may have already noticed its effects..."
That stuck some concern into the hero's heart. Why would the Great Deku Tree not tell him what this mysterious curse was? But just as the seeds of doubt plant themselves, he sweeps them away. Whatever it was, if it wasn't important enough to be explained to him, it probably isn't anything worth worrying about.
...Or so he thought.
With pluck suiting his adolescent confidence, Link strolls into the giant oak's mouth. When he does... | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
