What happened last night?

    by: AlexNotTheOne Author IconMail Icon
Robin yawned as woke up, he wasn't sure why but he could hardly fell asleep last night, he had no idea why but a lot of his fellow Shepherds were yelling at eachother about stealing something, while going to peaceful solve their problems would have been the most responsible thing to do, the tactician was too tired to do his job, this campaign to hunt down some very annoying risen had completely drained him so unconsciousness finally claimed him last night as the arguing of his friends as muffled in the distance.

"I wonder if Chrom could get some sleep" he wonder as he stretched his arms and put his robes on, he was certain that the Exalt had stayed up solving everyone's problems and right now was either on the brink of collapsing for a lack of sleep or too deep into his own dreams to be woken up, either way the camp probably needed some leadership, so Robin took the hard choice of... going to wake up his best friend so HE could deal with that, after all it was the most sound strategy at hand.

As he exited his tent Robin blocked the blinding light of the aim with the back of his arm, at least until his tortured eyes got used to it, he yawned again as he made his way to his friend's tent, there didn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary but knowing his friends he knew it was a matter of time before someone reignited last night arguments.

"Hiya!" the sound of a hammer landing on a training dummy was helping Robin wake up, be was greeted by the familiar sight of Frederick training, maybe he wouldn't need to wake up Chrom if Frederick was up.

"Hey Frederick, I see you're training early, as usual" the tactician greeted the knight, but the answer he got wasn't the one he expected.

"Training? Nah that's so boooooooooring! I'm just hitting the dummy to test my strength!" Frederick said as he kept hitting the dummy, "Hiya! Take that! Now who's delicate, uh? Uh?" he kept mocking the dummy hit after hit.

"What did I told you about using an actual weapon to train!" a familiar whinny voice said, Robin turned to see the familiar face of Lissa, that was wearing a very unfamiliar set of armor and serious frown on his face, she didn't pay Robin any mind, instead she walked to Frederick, standing in front of the knight while crossing her arms, as if she was scolding a child and expecting said child to apologize for some wrongdoing.

"Ugh, fiiiiine!" Frederick puffed his cheeks like an spoiled child as he handed over the hammer, "I'll use a dumb training axe if that's makes you feel better, Mr. I-don't-know-how-to-relax!"

"Aghh" Lissa picked the hammer but just the act of holding it seemed like a monumental task for the girl, the small plate armor she was wearing seemed like it was about to fall apart as every part of his tiny body started shaking, just stopping when the hammer fell to the ground, next to her feet.

"Um, Lissa? Is this some kind of prank?" Robin asked, if it was he had to admit the princess had upgraded her pranking style, but it was still as unfunny as the toad she had put on his backpack.

"Robin!" Lissa said, her eyes growing wide as she landed them on him, quickly blanking as she thought what to said, her shock in her face was as if she had seen him growing a second head, "I-I'm just really delicate! I'm just a delicate princess that can't carry a hammer!"

"I'm not delicate!" Frederick shouted as he stomped the ground, again behaving like a spoiled brat.

"Well, I'll see you later" Robin said as he walked away, rubbing his head as he thought about what he saw, had he imagined that or was he inside a lucid dream?

---

Robin kept walking through camp trying to clean his mind, he was clearly half-asleep and had imagined that encounter with Lissa and Frederick, who knew the mind could play that kind of tricks, he should probably tell Miriel later, she could definitely investigate this.

But Robin's already odd was about to turn even more strange, they had made camp next to a farm, the poor local farmers that lived here had their land devastated by a group or risen, said attacks were what lead the Shepherds to the area, he had remember some soldiers giving the locals a hand by helping them farm, but the person that was farming right in front of his wasn't know for their farming knowledge, not the physical strength, they were known for cursing people.

"Tharja?" Robin asked, blinking again and again to make sure he wasn't imagining anything, the girl getting her and deep into the ground definitely looked like Tharja, long dark hair, pale skin and a voluptuous figure, but something was wrong, she wasn't wearing her usual gauzy bodysuit she was wearing, Donnel's clothes? Or at least the blue shirt of a farmhand, and why did she had a pot over her head.

"Uh?" Tharja looked up, momentarily ignoring the ground below her to look up at him, and instead of am obsessive smirk when she saw him she just smile, a normal broad smile, "Robin! Ya finally woke up, uh? Came to plow' the fields with ol' Donny?"

"Ol' Donny?" Robin repeated, now he wasn't sure if he had never woken up and this was just some kind of dream.

"Yup, can teach ya the ropes if ya wan'!" Tharja said as she got up, extending her arms as if she was going to give him a hug, this allowed him to see that her hands were full of bruises and cut, not to mention covered in dirt, she was clearly not made for this kind of job.

"You're going to curse me, right? That's it, I'm going to touch the fields and I'm going to get cursed! That's your plan, Tharja!?" Robin yelled, convince he had cracked the code, this just has to be a way to make him drop his guard, he then proceeded to walk backwards, trying to get as far away from Tharja as he could but knowing that turning his back on her would only make things worse.

"What in tarnation!?" Tharja yelled, her eyes growing wide at the mention of a curse, "Curse ya whaddya talk-"

"You! Don't move, I've been looking for you all day!" a more masculine voice shouted behind Robin, soon Donnel appeared on his eyesight, but just like the plagian mage, he seem to behave in a strange manner, to start off he looked really angry, scowling like he had never scowled before, his clothes weren't dirty and most importantly, he didn't had his pot!

Just to continue with this odd experience, Donnel proceeded to carry Tharja as of she was a sack of potatoes, due to the mage's exhaustion after working the fields she was no match for the farmhand, but when Donny noticed Robin was looking at him, he proceed to continue with his odd behavior, biting one of his thumbs as his face got pink, "Hehe Robin, ignore this scene, it's just me the dumb farm boy doing my dumb normal activities, nothing to worry about!"

"Um yeah, if you say so Donny, now I...I have to go!" Robin said, taking advantage of Tharja being restrained to run away from her.
