Chapter #6

Blue Lions and Byleth's motivation

    by: Unknown
Why did Byleth do something like that? Fetishism? Of course not...

It was his biggest secret: He had seen the future, a alternative timeline in which many of his students died and traveled 5 years back in time to avoid it. The spirit Sothis, still in his head, taught him a spell fueled by her power that could make a limited number of human as strong as titans, strong enough to stop their terrible future. Byleth, incapable of forgetting his student's deaths, chose 8 of them hopping this power would protect them and gave it secretly, as no one of them would believe his story.

He watched how the eight devoured the dishes and felt disappointed when he did not see any sign of change between them.

"I could remember the spell, but I don't remember the exact details of how it works." Sothis admitted in the shadows of Byleth's mind. "Maybe it'd take some time, maybe years, before they get the divine strength."

The teacher wondered, bitterly, if the approaching war would hit before their transformations. After saying farewell he spent a terrible night in his old new bedroom, the little sleep he got was filled with nightmares of the future.

The next day he was informed he couldn't delay more his decision regarding which house he would join. He met the head students of the houses and again was disappointed by the lack of visible changes.

"It's a pleasure to met you again, professor. I really enjoyed the dinner." The always polite blond prince was the first one in shaking hands with his new teacher.

Then it happened: Pain... he could feel Dimitri's hand squeezing Byleth's tighter than he could bear. He heard bones creaking, but it wasn't his hand, that came from Dimitri's body who was slowly growing bigger while he kept in a trance with his eyes closed. As he was gained inches in height, his shoulders broadened, muscle mass was added in his bigger frame and feet grew 2 sizes, not enough to break his shoes but enough to feel uncomfortable.

It ended before anyone, not even Dimitri, could notice the abnormal growth spurt. The prince, who was 5cm (2") taller than the teacher, had almost a head of advantage over him.His clothes looked snugger on him and it didn't cover all his wrists and ankles. Byleth couldn't be happier.

"A good omen... a signal of what house I should choose."

And so, he turned into the head teacher of the Blue Lions, expecting to guide them as they grew into titanic saviors.
While they were leaving the garden, Claude's yawning attracted Byleth's attention. Feeling a bit uncomfortable, he was stretching his arms, and while he was doing it the rest of his body stretched slowly upwards until he was a hair under Dimitri's.

Smiling, Byleth remembered he had to keep an eye on the other houses...
