The mistakes of a street urchin

Dorothea had never taken snacks to her room in the middle of the night before, but there was no way that anyone in the Black Eagles would know that. Or how much of a mistake breaking that streak would be.

At the current time, Dorothea was a student of the Officer's Academy at Gerreg Mach.
Prior to that, she had been a member of the Mittelfrank Opera Company, and a rather famous one at that.
But even before that, she had spent her life alone on the streets. And it was this time of her life, that gave her some very peculiar reflexes.

When one lived on the streets, there were times where she had no guarantee that food would arrive, or when. This had caused her to be able to sense the smell of food even in her sleep, and even to try to eat it while unconscious.
Her nose had caught the whiff of the chocolate cake, and unlike her waking self, her sleeping mind did not know why the cake was there. She reaches over with one hand, groping around for the cake, and grabs a fistful.

Unfortunately for Bernadetta, she was included in the fistful. She was still exhausted from all the physical activity, but this sent adrenaline through her system. She tried her hardest to free herself from the cake.

Dorothea lowered the cake to her mouth, including the tiny student stuck in it.
Luckily for Bernadetta, Dorothea's subconscious was not able to chew. It began sucking on the cake, turning it to mush. This enabled the shrunken student to free herself from the cake. It did not, however, enable her to free herself from the mouth.
Suddenly, Dorothea pins Bernadetta to the roof of her mouth, swallowing the cake and letting her investigate the large solid object that had topped it.
She begins to suck on the shrunken student, using her tongue to attempt to figure out what it even was. It tasted interesting, but it was moving?
