Zac Efron was headed to a filming session for High School Musical after having the whole weekend off, something that was rare for a busy young actor like him. He had enjoyed some of the vices that his celebrity lifestyle prohibited, particularly junk food. He was on a fairly strict diet normally, and he also had an exercise regimen to keep his figure in top shape. He understood why he needed to do it, as he needed to stay conventionally attractive for his career, but he nevertheless got tired of it, and missed all the delicious junk foods that most people could indulge in without worrying about their job.
Thus, he decided to use his weekend off of acting to also take a break from his diet and exercise regimen, eating meat-lovers pizza, fried chicken, ice cream, and even chocolate cake through various parts of the weekend. He also ate more often than he normally would. He figured that since it was just one weekend, it shouldn't make too much of a difference, and after that he'd be right back to his regimen. He thought no one would notice, but he was dead wrong.
He got into costume, and when he started to film a scene, the director noticed a little bit of pudge in Zac's midsection that showed from just the right angle. After that take, the director yelled, "Efron! Come jmeet me in the back!" and he did not sound happy. Zac was incredibly worried, as he knew exactly what it was going to be about. Soon, Zac was talking to the director, his agent having followed. The director said, "Zac, I think you're starting to let yourself go." and Zac played dumb, asking "What makes you think that?" and the director said, "Lift up your shirt, Efron!" and Zac reluctantly pulled up the bottom of his basketball jersey, showing a slightly rounded out tummy where his six pack used to be.
Zac's agent said, "Zac, have you been neglecting your diet?" and Zac nodded ashamedly, with the agent saying, "You know you gotta stay fit if you want to keep doing this. Get back on the diet, or you'll have trouble finding good roles." and the director said, "I'll do you one better! Get back on the diet, or we'll find someone else to play Troy! We're still pretty early in filming, you know!" Zac said, "Yes, sir. I'll be fit as a fiddle in no time!"
The director then said, "Alright, everyone's on a fifteen, you've got ten more minutes. Don't take too much from the concessions table!" and Zac nodded before the other two left. Not a moment later, Zac felt someone tap his shoulder. He turned around to see a man in a suit giving him a smile of pity. He said, "I see you've got yourself a predicament there."
Zac said, "What do you mean?" and the man said, "The name's Claude, it's good to meet you, Zac. Look, I know it's hard to stay on a diet and keep fit and trim. Just look at Claude said, "What if I told you there's a way you can be fit for acting without that diet and exercise stuff." Zac said, "I'm listening." and Claude said, "I've invented a belt that will shrink your whole figure down to a lean, trim, and fit one. I'd be happy to give you one!" and Zac said, "I'll believe it when I see it!" Claude then silently pulled out a somewhat standard looking belt, only with a small panel of buttons in place of a buckle, and handed it to Zac, saying, "Try it!"
Zac then wrapped the belt around his waist, finding that the belt was quite elastic, and the end of it snapped into the panel of buttons. Claude then said, "Press the big green button!" and Zac did as he was told, and he felt his body get the slightest bit lighter and thinner. Zac lifted up his shirt, only to see that his abs had returned, almost as if they never left! Zac then said, "That's impressive!" and Claude said, "Press the blue button." and Zac did so, causing the belt to flicker for a bit before turning completely invisible. Zac said, "Wait, I look just like I did before the weekend! I really don't have to diet!" and Claude smiled, saying, "Precisely! Just press the red button to release the clasp. I would suggest doing that so you don't raise any suspicion." and Zac said, "Good point." before he pressed the red button, and pulled the belt off, feeling his tiny start of a gut flop back out.
Zac then said, "Alright, what's the catch?" and Claude said, "All I ask in return is a mere percentage or two of your current and future income. I'd rather have a share in your acting career than whatever price I might come up with." and Zac said, "Sure, I guess, but what if my acting career doesn't go so well? Isn't that risky for you?" and Claude said, "I'm willing to take that risk. As far as I can discern, you're much more likely to be successful than not!" and Zac blushed a little, saying, "Aww, thanks. How does 2 percent sound? Do you have a contract?" and Claude nodded, pulling out a fancy folder with a contract waiting inside.
Zac would normally consult with his agent about matters like this, but he decided to keep this one just to himself as he eagerly signed. Claude then gave him a card with all of his contact info in case Zac had any questions or problems. Zac was ecstatic, bringing a lot of energy into the rest of the scenes he shot. He'd be able to finish those leftovers in the fridge after all, and that was just the tip of the junk food iceberg! He could eat and do whatever he wanted, and he could just use the belt to look fit for High School Musical, and any other roles that he might take on for that matter!
