The light emanating from the gun had blinded you both and the two of you had instinctively shielded your eyes. When you opened them, you looked down to see that Hannah was shrinking. It was a pretty full blast, so it was over in a matter of seconds.
Hannah screamed tiny screams upon realizing that she had been shrunk down to three inches. You pull the small kid from your pocket and place him on your palm. Then, reaching down, you pick up Hannah and place her on the same palm.
The tiny teenager continued screaming, before you said in a whisper, so as to not make your presence known to the two ten year old girls n the next room, "Don;t worry. I'm not going to hurt you. I didn't mean to do this. I swear I'll turn you back as soon as I can."
Hannah stopped screaming, in part because her voice was too small to hear now anyway.
She looked over at the younger kid on your palm. He smiled at her. Hannah smiled back.
Sydney and Ashley had heard a noise coming from outside their bedroom door and stood up to investigate. They placed their mothers safely inside the dollhouse they were playing with and walked over to the door...
You were just outside their door, when suddenly, they stopped laughing. You could hear whispering on the other side of the door, but didn't dare try to open it. Fortunately, you didn't have to, as suddenly, the door swung open, revealing two of the biggest ten year-olds you had ever seen. The top of your head only came up to the giant girls' midsections. They saw the two miniature people sitting in your palm and smiled down at you.
"Ooh, more toys," Sydney said, as her bigger hand came towards your own.
She picked up the two smaller people and began playing with them, pulling on her sister's hair like a Barbie Doll, making the two toys pretend they're kissing, stuff like that. Hannah screamed as she was moved about, looking down at the floor to see she was several stories off the ground. At one point, Hannah was suspended hundreds of feet in the air, from her viewpoint, as she clung to her larger sister's pinkie finger, hanging on for dear life. She wrapped her arms and legs around the massive digit, hoping Sydney would soon save her.
Sydney laughed at her older sister's peril, before eventually grabbing her and placing her safely back on her palm.
You looked up at the two girls. They stared down at you. Ashley noticed the gun in your other hand.
"Why do you have a gun, mister?" she asks. "You're not gonna rob us, are you?"
You look up at them. Even if you WANTED to rob the, they could easily overpower you and tie you up. You decide to come clean.
"No, no," you begin. "This is actually the gun that made you two grow." Sydney and Ashley looked at each other. "It also made your mothers shrink. It's a pretty cool device. I found it this morning."
Sydney catches you off guard and snatches the gun from your hand and holds it up. Instantly, it grows slightly to fit her larger hand. "Cool," she says.
She inspects the gun. "'S' and 'G,'" she says. "Shrink and Grow. Right?" Sydney looks down at you. You nod your head slowly. "Come inside," Sydney says, taking the gun back into her room. Ashley lingered by the doorway, to make sure you did what you were told.
It was your best plan of action, and not just because the giant ten year-olds told you to do it. It was also the best way to get the gun back, given you could be presented with an opportunity.
Sydney sat down on her bed, the bed caving in where she sat. She set the gun at Growth and pointed it at her dollhouse. Instantly, the entire house, including the two tiny occupants inside, expanded, until the house was about two feet tall.
Sydney hen set the gun back to Shrink and placed her sister on her bed. Hannah knew what was going on, so she ran as fast as she could in the opposite direction. It was no use, however, as the beam caught her and she shrank again, going down to about a quarter of an inch tall.
Sydney laughed far above her. "My little sister just got littler." She plucked Hannah up between two massive digits and deposited her inside the dollhouse, where her mother, Rachael, ran up to her and cradled her in her arms, crying.
"This is so cool," Sydney said, smiling.
"Can I try it?" Ashley said, anxiously. "I wanna use it, too."
