Chapter #9

The Stewardess and the Stowaway

    by: bobob1 Author IconMail Icon
From the brief glances you caught of this women through the opening in Shannon's lucky heels you could tell she was drop dead gorgeous. However, knowing this did precisely jack shit for you at the moment as you could see nothing but darkness and feel the warm, heavy foot of Romona far above you. Only knowing her name from miraculously hearing your sister say it earlier in the day, you cursed your mother repeatedly in your head for putting you in yet another terrible situation. You promised yourself that this time you wouldn't let Shannon off the hook and would give her an earful the next time you were able to... if you were able to. Remembering just how terrible your current position was you wished you could cry, but not tears could come from your current predicament, only the steady accumulation of sweat underneath Romona's sole. From what you could feel it seemed like your captor had gotten into a car and driven somewhere, and had just parked and begun stomping all over you once again. Every step flattened your body further, solidifying your role as an insole as opposed to a human man.

Above in the real world, Romona was tremendously nervous for her working interview as a flight attendant. She loved traveling and was great at talking to people, partly due to her good looks, so she figured this job would be a perfect fit. She only found out earlier that day that her interview would consist of an actual day of working as an attendant, but luckily her friend Shannon hooked her up big time with a stylish yet professional dress as well as these fantastic heels. Not only did they look amazing on her but they were absolutely the comfiest she had ever worn. She paid extra special attention to the cushion they provided her with each passing step, feeling that while both shoes were comfy, the left was for some reason even better than the right. She merely smiled happily at this knowledge and focused her mind on the day ahead of her.

Back across the city in your house your sister opened the door to Shannon's room, where she was still sleeping off her hangover somehow. She glanced down into her mom's closet, holding a pair of large tweezers, something she bought in hopes that she could use to free you. But when she looked downward her stomach dropped, seeing that the pair of heels that currently housed you was completely missing. Immediately she stomped towards Shannon's bed and shaking her awake.

"MOM! WAKE UP NOW." Stacy shouted, something she didn't do often. Shannon jolted up, finally seeming ready to be alive after her night out with her friends. Stacy continued immediately, "I cannot believe you wore Sammy again last night! Even after I specifically told you to let him reform! Now where the hell is he?!" Stacy commanded Shannon's attention, not giving her any time for her ditsy brain to accidentally concoct some dumb excuse. By some miracle, memories flooded back into Shannon's brain. Putting you back into her shoe, dancing on you all night, and lastly, her friend Romona borrowing some clothing earlier that morning.

"Oh god I'm so sorry Stacy! You just know how important it is that my heels are comfortable!" Once again it seemed like Shannon was acting uncaring towards you, but the reality was he truly was this dim at times and could only focus on fixing the problem of her broken insole no matter the cost. Before Stacy could yell at her once again though Shannon continued, "My friend Romona must have taken my favorite heels earlier! Damn! We need to get them... I mean, Sam back!"

Stacy was livid at her mother's ineptitude, but knew that yelling at her more wouldn't do any good in the moment. So quickly she decided that the two had to drive to Romona's house that second and try to get their tiny family member back.

Meanwhile, you had zero idea that your family was hot on your trail for once, and could focus only on the crushing torture of Romona's soles above you. At this point she was a number of hours into her interview and had been standing literally the entire day. Sweat was pouring out of her nylon-covered feet and your squishy body was soaking it up perfectly. You cried as you began to realize how many characteristics you had that made you pretty much the perfect insole, just wishing for once that a woman would find using you uncomfortable. But it seemed like once again you were fulfilling your role perfectly as Romona trotted to and fro down the aisles of planes absolutely loving her first attempt at being a flight attendant. She had no clue that her good friend's tiny son was the main reason for her comfort that day, but she took a moment to remind herself to ask Shannon where she got these shoes later.

Stacy and Shannon at the same time were driving across town, calling Romona's phone repeatedly to try and alert her of your situation. However as she was currently working on flights she had no access to her cell and the calls kept going to voicemail. Soon enough, however, Stacy and Shannon got to Romona's house, noticing that her car wasn't there they groaned audibly. Shannon in her ever-lazy and thoughtless attitude suggested they just go home and figure it out later when Romona picks up her phone, but Stacy quickly shut down the idea, parking their car in Romona's driveway. They decided they would wait until she got back from whatever she was doing.

Romona, on the other hand was feeling none of the stress that you and your family members were feeling at the moment. As she hopped off her last flight of the day, she briefly talked to the person in charge of hiring her, being told that she would find out if she got the job later that week. However the woman talking to Romona whispered quietly that the job was pretty much hers if she wanted it, they just had to file some paperwork. Romona was ecstatic to say the least, as she thanked the woman before literally skipping out of the airport to her car. She finally turned on her phone, to see a flood of calls from Shannon's number flooding her phone. A bit alarmed, she thought in her head what the emergency must be. Briefly she thought that Shannon must want her clothes and shoes back, however she entertained the idea of pretending that she lost the shoes just so she wouldn't have to give them up. She wrestled with her conscience about what to do or a minute or so before...
