Running away from Sakura proved a difficult challenge for Naruto. Sure, Sakura's strength rivaled that of her sensei, the Legendary Sannin, Tsunade. However, Naruto had assumed that Sakura lacked mobility and stamina, an assumption that was entirely baseless. Even as Naruto jumped from roof to roof, slid under pipes and maneuvered around hordes of obstacles, Sakura always managed to gracefully dodge and weave past obstacles. Furthermore, Sakura's stamina was unprecedented by Naruto. Naruto's large chakra reserves, thanks to a certain fox, had created a distinct and helpful adaptation within Naruto's natural stamina reserves, giving the blonde three times the normal stamina a human could possess. This made it easy for Naruto to consistently evade authority while committing robberies and thefts of all kinds.
However, Naruto did not anticipate for Sakura to hold the same amount of stamina he held. Training with a Legendary Sannin must have improved many aspects of Sakura's combative capabilities. But even as Sakura was gaining up on Naruto on the rooftops, there was one thing Sakura could never beat.
Naruto's craftiness.
Since Naruto had become a thief, he knew that the creation of traps and shortcuts would be essential to evading authority. Therefore, Naruto had terraformed the entire roofscape of Konoha into his own territory. Sakura may have been strong enough to capture Naruto, but the roofs were now Naruto's.
Naruto surprised Sakura by strafing to the left towards a rusted water tank. With Naruto's capture solely on the pinkette's mind, Sakura quickly gave chase. Naruto smirked as he heard Sakura's hastened footsteps trailing his. He had Sakura exactly where he wanted her. Naruto quickened his pace and upon jumping off a roof, maneuvered himself to slide underneath the water tank. A rope was underneath the tank, tied to a hatch on the bottom of the rusted drum. Naruto quickly pulled the rope down, but instead of water pouring out, a sticky, brownish-blackish ooze seeped rapidly from the tank. Sakura could not react in time to dodge the concoction, as she only noticed the downpour of sludge the moment she slid underneath the tanker.
Sakura was quickly engulfed in the sludge, which she found out to be molasses, as the sickly-sweet sludge entered her mouth. Sakura thrashed and flailed her limbs, attempting to rid herself of the viscous liquid. But in her attempts to shake off the ooze, Sakura had rolled off the roof and into a nearby trashbin. The impact of Sakura's fall was enough for the lid in the trashcan to close shut.
Naruto could not help but release a series of chuckles and howls at Sakura's 'disposal'. "SERVES YOU RIGHT!" Naruto shouted from atop the rooftops. Naruto soon erupted into a fit of laughter for a few minutes, before quickly regaining his composure. It would not be long until Sakura was on her feet again and with that notion, Naruto quickly ran away from the scene.
Naruto traveled upon the rooftops for hours until he came to a nearby training field. An abandoned one at that. With the slab of meat still in his hand, Naruto began to gorge himself on the delectable cut of meat. "Man o' man!" Naruto exclaimed as he ate the juicy meat. "That was one hell of a sight!" Naruto shouted.
"What was a sight?" Naruto quickly whipped his head around at the source of the voice, which turned out to be...   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
