All across the world of Pokémon, news had quickly spread of a novel phenomenon that was causing chaos across all the regions. Shards of dark metal were fall out of the sky, spreading a strange contagion that caused whoever was affected to grow to monstrous heights.
No one knew where it had come from. It resembled the Dynamax transformation on the surface, though Eternatus was still slumbering in its cocoon. There were even two stray puffs of purple clouds that circled around the heads of the afflicted. However, unlike Dynamax, this phenomenon didn't just only affect Pokémon, but humans, too. Additionally, they didn't simply grow to a certain size and then shrink back down to normal but stayed at their new titanic size seemingly indefinitely. Already, it had rapidly upended life as people knew it wherever it spread, leading to radical adjustments in greater society to adjust to the new normal.
This strange, Dynamax-like phenomenon didn't seem to have any rhyme or reason behind how people or Pokémon alike were affected or when. Sometimes, it would grow the afflicted person or Pokémon immediately, and sometimes it would linger for days at a time before the full effects came home. Sometimes the size-change would be nigh-instantaneous, and other times it would be a slow progression of growth or segmented increments of sudden grown.

It was these kinds of stories that initially had Lucas immediately dismissing the whole thing as wild rumors. As time passed, though, it got increasingly harder to deny the truth behind these reports. Strange silhouettes had begun appearing in the horizon, frequently foretelling the arrival of sudden earthquakes and tsunamis.
So far, the phenomenon had been limited to Galar and parts of Paleda and Kalos, but they were saying it was only a matter of time before it started spreading to the rest of the world. Lucas knew he would be ready for whatever came his way, but for now, he had to focus on what he had to do as...
