Nothing happens

Although she thought she'd felt a spark of power, suddenly everything faded away, the emeralds plonking back down onto the floor.

"It didn't work...?"

"I guess not." Tails shrugged, marking the results down on his computer, "Good try, though!"

Although the remark was genuine, and she knew it, Amy couldn't help but feel patronized by the fox kit.

"Yeah." She sighed, turning and leaving. She really thought she could do it! What had gone wrong?

Humiliated, she swore to find a way to make this work. But how?
