This choice: Drawn by your emotions, a Pokemon suddenly emerged from the Lake... • Go Back...Chapter #5The Being of Emotion by: Unknown Freshly motivated, you began taking a few steps, thinking that your chances to get help would be way higher the moment you set foot in Twinleaf Town.
What you would do next, you didn't know, but you tried to elaborate a plan as you moved. Get help from one of your neighbors, perhaps? And then maybe ask them to bring you to Prof. Rowan's lab, since you doubted any of them would be willing to chase Mew down... and that was supposing the believed you.
However, little did you know that you weren't going to return anytime soon.
As you ran through the lake shore to leave, you heard the unmistakable sound of splashing water behind you, like something had fallen into the lake; instinctively, you froze in your tracks, knowing better: some Pokemon was probably coming out, and if they saw you, you were going to be in trouble.
Shaking in fear, you turned to face a potentially hungry titan... but there was none.
Oddly enough though, there was what appeared to be a sphere of water hovering above the lake, right in the middle of it.
Now, your mind was telling you to turn around again and get lost; but curiosity got the best of you.
"... Huh?"
--
At the bottom of Lake Verity, a Pokemon slept peacefully.
However, its sleep was disturbed as it sensed something, extremely near to its location.
Emotions... especially strong emotions, intense fear being the strongest it could feel.
Then, a new emotion emerged - resignation, followed by a sudden surge of determination.
Such an odd mix of strong emotions made it so that they couldn't be ignored any longer.
It was time to see who was the source.
So, completely, awakened from its slumber, the Pokemon began to rise from the depths of the lake it resided it.
And finally, light.
--
You watched in disbelief as the sphere of water lingered above the lake for a few moments more, like a soap bubble, and just like one it popped, splashing droplets of water everywhere; a Pokemon took the place of the sphere of water, you noted.
Your jaw nearly dropped as you stared at the titanic being that was now fluttering above the lake, stirring and yawning.
It had a relatively small body and small feet, long slender arms and a pink head. Also, it had two identical tails, each with a gem, and there was a third, red gem in the middle of its forehead; eventually, the creature opened its eyes, allowing you to see their shade of gold.
There was no mistaking it, this was another legendary! This Pokemon was the Being of Emotion, Mesprit!
You couldn't believe your luck (or misfortune), meeting two legendaries, the rarest creatures of the world, in one day!
You watched in silence as the titan looked around, seemingly searching for something... or someone.
And that someone, you realized when the gaze of the Pokemon landed on you, was you!
Again, you felt the need to run, and the urge only grew stronger as you saw the legendary fluttering in your direction, reaching you in a matter of seconds; you found yourself face to face with Mesprit, right before it extended its paws to grab you. You turned around and ran in the opposite direction, only for a tail twice as big as you to land in front of you, blocking your escape and causing you to turn once more and run... right into Mesprit's awaiting hands, which closed around you as the legendary flew up at a decent height.
You were utterly terrified, but the titan seemingly had no bad intentions. In fact, it was merely examining you; eventually, it let a smile spread on its face.
And then, it spoke to you.
"Curious." it said in perfect human language, sounding distinctly feminine,
"Human travelers aren't rare, but they usually don't usually possess such a... peculiar size."
You were fairly sure you heard the giant - giantess, you decided - giggling after her little speech.
You were so bewildered to forget your fear. However, Mesprit didn't.
"If I may ask, human, why are you so afraid? I do not wish to harm you."
The question caught you off guard. Mostly because you didn't expect a Pokemon to ask you why you were afraid instead of simply tossing you in their mouth and swallow.
"... Huh?"
"I asked-"
"N-No, I heard you," you interrupted, still hardly believing you were talking to a Pokemon,
"It's... well, everything. I'm so small I could be killed by everything... though I'm very, very grateful that you don't want to hurt me!" you hastily added the last line, making Mesprit giggle.
"That makes sense." she replied,
"But how did a human become so small?"
At the question, your mind went back to Mew, and you were reminded of what you were supposed to be doing right now instead of chatting with another legendary about it.
"The subject seems to be causing you a great amount of distress." Mesprit noted, amused.
"Perhaps I can fix that."
In an instant, you became perfectly calm. It was as if fear, worry, distress and every other negative emotion you were feeling simply disappeared.
"I believe you can now speak, yes?" Mesprit calmly wondered.
"Yes." you replied without hesitation, a bit stoically even.
You began telling your tale, at the end of which Mesprit looked intrigued.
"Mew, you say?" she spoke, intrigued. What was Mew even doing in the Sinnoh region?
"Yes. She told me to find her."
Mesprit sighed.
"That... does sound like something Mew would do." she said.
"I can only hope she'll give me back my size then," you continued, before adding,
"Can you help me?"
Normally, you'd be a little more intimidated while asking such thing to a Pokemon who was said to possess an immense strength and who was literally holding your life in her very hands, but being temporarily deprived of fear made you a lot bolder as a consequence.
Mesprit's eyes shone at the request.
"Help... you...?" she parroted back, pondering the request you made for a little while; then, she replied, indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
