As the pair left high command, Tanaka couldn't help but scowl. Sakurai was a fool if he saw it to ignored the battle data. Numbers were everything, they dictated the best course of action on the battlefield and most likely saved more lives than anyone would ever know. So say that they didn't matter was just ludicrous.
Then there was Junko. He couldn't stand this woman. Everything about her simply rubbed him the wrong way and the way she could suck up to people made him want to puke. Not to mention he'd been a witness to some of her more... covert projects. Needless to say the woman had no morals. If she was heading a new monster hunter project then that meant nothing good for those involved.
"So what exactly is your plan?" Tanaka pried.
Junko smirked. "All in good time general, all in good time. Anyway, why don't you head back down to base while I make preparations."
"For what?"
"Why, for first contact with the enemy of course." Junko giggled. "I want to meet this Kaiju girl face-to-face."
"Why on earth would you want to do that? Surly your time would be better spent behind a laptop?"
"Tut, tut, tut, general." the head scientist mocked. "No need to get all dramatic. I'll get behind the screen when I'm good and ready. For now be a good little grunt and do as your superior demands. Head back to base while I go confront this big bad threat to national security."
The general grit his teeth. "Yes sir."
"Good boy." she teased. "Now run along."
The general did as he was told, but not with a few muttered curses under his breath.
"Such an amusing little man." Junko remarked. "Now it's time to meet this Girlzilla and get this show moving."
