Chapter #5

You two decide to go on a quest

by: Johnny Foxx Author IconMail Icon
As you exit the Guild and head towards the tavern, you do your best to ignore your partner's ceaseless rambling, until it eventually fades into background noise. You step into the tavern and ask the barkeep for any work leads. He says there just so happens to be someone in the tavern right now looking to hire. He points to a corner of the room, where a cloaked figure is sitting alone.

The two of you approach the hooded figure and ask about a job. The figure chuckles. By the sound of their voice, they had to be a woman. "Indeed, I am looking to hire someone to help me collect a debt I am owed." You scowl "We're not some hired street thugs. Sounds like a job for tax collectors, not heroes."

"Oh no, you misunderstand. It is not money I am owed, but something much more valuable. It just so happens it's another of you're build that owes me, matter of fact. The one called Arnin the Ageless." At this both your and your companion's jaws drop. You'd never met Arnin, but you had heard countless stories of him and his incredible deeds of heroism. Even more legendary was his apparent eternal youth, a blessing from a goddess for saving one of her temples, or so he says. "Think it over. Meet me tonight at midnight by the crossroads to the north of the capital if you want the job. If not, I'll find someone else." With that, the cloaked figure stood up and left.

You and Olapen rent a room for the night and debate on whether or not to take the job. "I'm telling you, this doesn't feel right!" Olapen says "Something is seriously wrong about this!" You however, figured that work was work and decide if would be foolish to not at least hear the client out. So you teleport to the meeting place, with Olapen reluctantly following.

You have the following choices:

1. Meeting the mysterious client

2. The client never shows

3. Reader's Choice
