Luka Redgrave was close with his father, Antonio. As a journalist, Antonio often brought his young son wherever the legends of the Umbra Witches and the Lumen Sages led them. Unfortunately, Luka's life would be twisted by trauma upon the discovery of a strange coffin resting at the bottom of the lake.
After Antonio salvaged the coffin and opened it, he released the Umbra Witch Bayonetta, awakening her from a 500 year slumber. Just as the amnesiac Umbra Witch awoke, Antonio was attacked by unseen forces, lifted into the air before the witch, and torn apart. Luka watched helplessly as his father died before his young eyes while Bayonetta disappeared into a glimmering portal.
Overtaken by grief and anger, believing that Bayonetta was responsible for his father's death, Luka rushed to the portal and reached for her just as the Umbra Witch disappeared into it. What Luka didn't know at the time was that non-Umbra Witches or non-Lumen Sages jumping through magical portals would have a profound effects on the humans. As Luka leapt through the portal, something happened to his body when he reached the other side.
What happened to Luka?
1.) Luka jumped through the portal, but he was stuck shrunken an inch tall around Bayonetta's presence.
2.) Luka jumped through the portal, but he was stuck shrunken an inch tall around Jeanne, who offered to raise him to combat Bayonetta.
3.) Luka jumped through the portal, but he was stuck shrunken an inch tall around Rosa, who turned out to be Bayonetta's mother in the past.
4.) Luka jumped into Inferno where he is subjected to the torment of the already giant Infernal Demonesses (i.e. Madama Butterfly, Madama Styx, etc.)
