Gil shook his head. "I don't need the gifts of some chaos god or whatever you are. I'll make my own way through this world until I can go back to mine!"
The creator chuckled, shifting form to a human one for once, appearing as a shadowy Nurse Joy, her greens eyes and fangs in look of mock pity. "Aw, how adorable! Aren't you a strong independent human, not needing little old me!"
Suddenly, Gil felt drowsy, stumbling as he realized he was about to pass out. Just before he did, he would hear one final thing from the teasing god disguised as Nurse Joy.
"Good luck with that, my little godling!"
And with that, everything went black.
Gil would awaken with a start, wondering if it had all been a dream. Looking around, though, he still found himself in unfamiliar territory, a room that wasn't his own. Still, he didn't exactly feel like he had godly, reality bending powers. He wasn't sure what to expect, but there was no point in sitting around, so he got up to see what his first day in this Pokemon world held for him.
Quite stereotypically, he found that it was his 18th birthday and that he was ready to start his first Pokemon adventure, just as soon as he got himself a Pokemon partner. As strange as his situation was, a part of him really was excited for what was to come. He found his mother in this world looked and acted much like his own, though slightly younger looking and more attractive, much to his embarrassment. He found out that he had a childhood friend who had turned 18 just a few weeks prior and already had a Pokemon. And he found out that there was a local professor, though whether or not they had any starter appropriate Pokemon was unknown.
As Gil wondered how he would get his first Pokemon, he felt a strange sensation within him. He didn't know how to describe it, but it was like something welling up in his chest, a warm and tingling feeling.
