Jacquan's hair was thick, close-cropped and curly so it was easy to get a handhold once inside. It would also be harder to see, or feel, Timothy if he stared there. He landed in the forest of hair and stared out. He practically had the same point of view as the giant himself now and stared out at the handsome father ahead of him, talking to the giant about college. Jacquan's booming voice came from below. "The basketball team WANT me, Dad. It's not just me giving up my studies. They WANT me on the team. That's a big deal!"
"Your degree is a bigger deal," came the dad's baritone voice. "Just make sure you stay focussed on that."
You could almost FEEL Jacquan rolling his eyes beneath you. "Yes sir," he said with a note of resentment in his voice.
