This choice: Nothing happens until Night rolls around… • Go Back... Later in the evening, when many monsters were settling in to sleep, Chara arrived back at home, to find Asriel, Toriel and Asgore all waiting there for her.
“There you are Chara.” Said Toriel smiling.
Everyone failed to notice Chara’s change in height. Something Chara noticed immediately, and was thankful for.
“Uh… Hi guys...” Chara said nervously, looking around at all of them.
Asgore took the lead. “So, how did your walk go?"
“Eh… it was nice, I guess...” Chara replied.
She couldn't help but notice everyone staring at her. She quickly glanced at Asriel, who had an amused smile on his face.
“Um… Did you guys want to ask me something?" Chara asked.
"Well..." Asgore said, "We all noticed your disappointment with your lack of growth lately.”
“Mom’s been doing some studying on human biology, and we found that a lot of kids do tend to develop a bit later than young monsters do in their early years.” Asriel added.
“We just wanted to say, it’s alright that you’re not growing just yet.” Toriel said. “And you just need to be patient about it, it will come soon enough.”
“Oh, well… that’s okay!” Said Chara.
“It is?” Asriel asked, a bit confused about Chara’s sudden attitude change.
Chara nodded.
“Yes! I mean, if it’s really not that unusual for humans to take longer to grow. Then I’m fine with waiting a bit.” Chara was fully aware of her lie, knowing what was at her disposal just over an hour walk away from her home.
“Oh… well it’s good you’re not upset I suppose.” Toriel said. “I’m quite glad.”
“Most certainly.” Agreed Asgore.
Chara smiled and trundled off to her room, and prepared to head to bed.

That night however, Chara couldn't fall asleep. She tossed and turned in her bed for hours, unable to relax. She kept thinking about what her family had said. She kept thinking about the capsule back at the lab, and she couldn’t get the feeling of her growth out of her mind.
Until, her head bumped the back of her bed frame.
"Ow…” Chara muttered quietly, rubbing the back of her head.
She sat up in her bed and glanced at her feet, pushing up against her blanket.
"What is happening…" Chara breathed out, standing up.
Chara gasped when she realized what happened. She looked at her bed, which usually reached up to about her chest. But now it only reached her waist. Her clothes didn’t seem tight however, so they must’ve grown with her.
Chara then felt the tingling feeling subside, and heard a familiar voice.
“Chara?” Groaned Asriel. “Is that you?”
Asriel sat up in his bed on the opposite side of the room. He gasped as his eyes adjusted to the darkness of the room as he stared at Chara.
“Wh-what? Chara?” Asriel said, trying not to shout. “How tall are you?”
Chara shrugged. Unsure about her height. Chara then had an idea.
“Here, stand up.” Chara said.
Asriel stood up, and saw Chara was eye level with him.
“Woah!” Gasped Asriel.
“Wow! I’m taller than you now!” Beamed Chara.
Chara was correct, her gaze was just above Asriel’s. Just by a couple inches though, so a slim margin.
“Y-Yeah, I guess! But, uh… how did you grow taller so quickly?” Asriel asked.
Chara didn’t answer right away.
