Chapter #6

The BIG Prank!

    by: G-Breaker Author IconMail Icon
April 1st, better known as the holiday, April Fool's day. Usually, it would be considered a day for playing some innocent practical jokes on your loved ones, and all for the sake of a good laugh. But for the Loud family, this very holiday was more like an omen of great terror and a day to run for their lives. And who do they have to thank for that? None other than their comedian of a child, and the most dangerous prankster of the house, Luan Loud.

Every year on April Fool's day, Luan would booby trap the house with tons of dangerous pranks. While most people would consider a simple practical joke to be harmless and good for a friendly laugh, Luan's pranks were anything but harmless or simple. They were just as bad as the death traps you could find in an ancient temple, and the Loud family would always live in constant fear of her psychotic pranks.

On the day before the prank-apocalypse, everyone in the house tried to prepare themselves for whatever Luan would throw their way. While the parents were writing up their wills, some of the kids were busy getting their safety gear ready for the incoming threats the next day. The twins tried wrapping themselves up in bubblewrap again while some of the older sisters gathered up some of Lynn's umpire equipment to protect themselves. Lisa was developing another safety suit and Lucy tried calling up some of her ghost friends to scare Luan so that she'd call off the pranks.

As for Lincoln, he was growing desperate to find a way to save himself from the agony of the first of April. After enduring all of her traps to save Ronnie Anne from them that one year, he was more determined than ever to avoid the torture of it all. However, while everyone was gearing up for it, they all heard Luan walking up the stairs with a threatening vibe accompanying her.

"Hey fam. I hope you're all enjoying the night before the big day." Luan said in an eerie tone. "I just wanted to make sure everyone's ready because you'll be in for a prankin' good time tomorrow. Get it?" She punned with her signature laugh.

Lincoln gulped nervously from his room and closed it to hide from her. Then, once everyone retreated to their rooms as well, Luan took a gander at all of the places in the house where she could set up a possible prank for them. Once she reached Lisa and Lily's room, however, Luan noticed something on her desk.

"Huh, what's this?" Luan picked up a vial of white powder on Lisa's desk and read what was on the label. "Experimental? Hmm. Maybe I can use this to my advantage." Luan said with a sinister laugh. She then exited the youngest siblings' room and took the vial with her. Lisa and Lily were too scared of her to notice what she took since they were hiding in the closet.

The next day, it was zero-hour and everyone was on high alert for any pranks. It was the middle of the night and the family thought it would be safer if they left to go somewhere far away from Luan's pranks. A few hours after Luan was sound asleep, everyone quietly snuck out of the house, careful not to set off any pranks that Luan may have rigged for them already. Unfortunately, while everyone was in a hurry to leave, Lincoln was the only one who didn't get up. The others were already in the car and just drove off. They wanted to go back for Lincoln and were absolutely worried for his safety, but once they saw an early prank go off in the driveway, they quickly panicked and ran for the hills, filled with total regret for leaving their only son/brother behind to face the cloud of chaos alone.

Once Lincoln got up the next morning, he was just as stressed as everyone else. He picked up his protective gear with a helmet, a bat, a squirt gun, a trash can lid and a utility belt with all of the essentials he would need to survive the oncoming storm. Slowly opening his door, Lincoln peered into the hallway for any traces of a trap. Once he opened it a little bit more, he began wondering where everyone is.

"Hey! Guys! Mom Dad!" He called, but no one answered him. "Oh boy. Okay Lincoln. Keep your guard up. You can survive this." He said to himself. But then, the moment he was about to step on the floor, Lincoln hesitated and nudged it for any oil slicks or anything like that. Taking a few more careful steps, he exited his room and looked around anxiously for any incoming pranks.

Unbeknownst to the Loud boy, Luan was watching him from the comfort of the camera system Lisa installed in the garage. With a sadistic grin, she waited patiently for Lincoln to trip up, but was also disappointed that he was her only victim this time around. Once Lincoln made it downstairs, he looked around for anything that could prank him.

He looked around and found some pies flying his way. Putting up his lid shield, Lincoln easily protected himself. Then, he saw the butter on the kitchen floor and quickly sprayed it with Lysol to avoid slippage. But it seemed Luan wasn't going to give in yet. Lincoln might've been prepared for her pranks, but she still had a way around his defenses. Through tricking Lisa a few months prior to April Fool's, Luan managed to rig her robots to help her in her pranks. Todd took away Lincoln's belt while FriendBot 1000 stripped him of his bat, shield, and squirt gun.

Now, all Lincoln had left was his helmet, until Todd fired his laser and melted it. "Oh no." Lincoln yelped in terror. He was now defenseless and tried to find a safe route back to his room. Unfortunately, he had to endure a few of her pranks along the way and was nearly a mess by the time he made it up the stairs. "Almost there." He said weakly. "Just have to-"

Lincoln tried run back to his room, but before he could open the door, he failed to notice a trap laid above him. "Oh come on!" Lincoln shouted as the tarp held over him was released and covered him in a sparkling white powder. Lincoln wasn't amused by this prank and shook it off to get back into his room. But before he could open the door, Lincoln felt a strange sensation overtake him. He started getting dizzy until he eventually blacked out.

While Luan was watching from the garage, she was laughing joyfully as she enjoyed watching her brother fall for all of her pranks. "Oh man! Lincoln can be such a sucker when it comes to pranks. It's too bad he-"

Luan suddenly cut herself off once she looked at the monitors and became perplexed when she didn't see any sign of him on any of the screens anymore. "Huh, hey where'd he go?!" Luan looked at every screen but saw no trace of her brother on any of them. She then switched to the front and backyard cameras and still couldn't see him.

She even rewinded the footage and still saw no sign that he even left the house. "That's weird. It's like Lincoln just disappeared. Hmm. I've gotta go and check it out." Luan then left the garage and went back into the house, while carefully looking out for any of her own pranks and easily avoiding them.

"Hey, Lincoln! Are you still in here?!" She called from the kitchen. Once she heard no response from him, Luan began looking in the other rooms as well.

Lincoln, on the other hand, was beginning to regain consciousness and slowly stood back up. "Ugh, I've really got to watch out for Luan's pranks. That one was a killer." He said, dusting himself off. However, before Lincoln could step back into his room, he noticed something different about the hallway.

The ceiling looked much higher and farther away than it should be and the door looked so much taller than before. "What the? Why is everything so big all of a sudden?" Lincoln asked nervously. He looked around at how huge all of the doors looked and the length of the hallway. But what really set him off was when he saw one of Lola's tiaras on the floor and saw how it towered over him as well.

"Wait a minute. If that's Lola's pageant crown, then that... must mean..." Lincoln paused between words as his anxiety grew from his realization. "I SHRANK!" He shouted. "No way! It must've been that powder. It made me tiny! This is bad, very bad!"

Lincoln panicked at his current situation. Not only was he shrunken to at least half an inch tall, but he was also still alone in the house with his pranking genius of a sister, Luan, who was still normal-sized and could probably do a lot of nasty things with his tiny form if he wasn't careful. "I've got to find a way to get big again. But how?"
