The three monster girls sat near each other, while still being in Mero's room. The mermaid was swimming in her pool, while having her arms to support her chin as she listened to the other two. The lamia, Miia, sat on her coils as she tried to explain what she had managed to glean from the kobold trainer, while the dridder, Rachnera, stood nearby the door, deep in thought.
"I've told you what she told me. Centaurs aren't known to be prone to being fat. Although, she mentioned that ebing them part equine and part human, one could take into consideration the ways to fatten up the two single portions of her being. Still, I believe we could be onto something already.
The trainer told me that Centaurs were hardly in the position to gain weight due to their constant movement. If we can manage to get Her to laze around as much as possible we might have a chance. But would that be enough?"
Rachnera, as she opened her eyes, stared at the lamia.
"No, it wouldn't be enough. To fatten her up we need to have her on a diet... a very caloric one.
But that also seems impossible doesn't it? I mean, without 'Darling', who's gonna cook? You, Miia? Or maybe you, Mero?"
Miia kept silent, as much as she boasted herself to be a great chef, she knew she couldn't do it in this case. Mero, too, lowered her stare. As a mermaid she was great with fish but...anything else? Not a chance.
The two girls stared speechless at the floor as then Rachnera huffed in disappointment.
"Mh. Well... if nobody else can...Might as well be me."
The Lamia, rising from her coils hissed in anger toward Rachnera, while she looked at her quite amused.
"You!? And how do you know how to cook?"
"Instead of mixing everything up as you usually do, Miia, I've watched Kimihito and learned from it.
I may not be a chef, yet, but I can sure cook edible food. Alright, so let's recap.
We know that centaurs gain weight by lazing around and by eating copious amounts of food. So, this is what we have to do.
You, Mero, you'll have to point out to Kimihito that, as he's gone, one of us has to be able to cook for the others. I'll present myself and, Miia, you have too."
"Rachnera? Wh-What!? You know exactly he'll never..."
"I know. But Centorea will be expecting that. Everything must seem normal...otherwise will be harder in the future. Then, I'll propose myself as the supervisor here.
Cerea shall discuss, and you two should too, a bit at least, but being the biggest here, I can surely scare anyone coming from outside. Plus, being appointed supervisor by Kimihito, Cerea will, likely, listen to my advices a bit more easily."
As the three decided, each went on her way, until it was lunch time, where the show had to start.
All of the monster girls were sitting around the table, having just finished lunch, ech was more satisfied than the others but, as Kimihito began to clear the empty plate, Mero started with her piece.
"Um, Kimihito?"
"Mh? Yes, Mero...what's up?"
"I was thinking. Now that you're leaving...who's gonna cook for us?"
Kurusu, as he placed the plates into the washer machine, stood up and opened his mouth until he realized that he had no answer to that.
"Uh... I hadn't thought of that. Well, who of you girls know how to cook? No, Miia, you don't count."
"Daarling! Meanie!"
As he smiled at the lamia, he then turned around the table and saw three hands raised against the ceiling. Mero's, as the mermaid seemed to radiate confidence; Centorea's, although the centaur was heavily blushing and Rachnera's, having a quite relaxed stance. He stared in surprise, especially to the spidergirl, as he hadn't expected that.
"You really do, Rachnera? Well...Anyway. Seeing that you three are the best, how about each of you prepare a plate and then, we will see how it goes at dinner?"
Just as he said that, Mero raised an objection.
"Actually..." as she began to tremble slightly as she remembered the taste of Miia's cooking.
"Wouldn't it be better if we make a small competition? They'll have to prepare two plates, one hot and one cold, so that by tonight we can have a normal dinner going on...made by someone with certain cooking skills."
Kurusu, thinking back to the lamia's experiments at the stove, felt the same chiling fear of the mermaid and so quickly agreed, saying that the three girls had the afternoon to prepare two dishes, one cold and one warm, to be tested a couple of hours before dinner time.
As he then returned to his duties by cleaning the place, leaving the kitchen to the three girls.
Mero was the first to take the word.
"So, who wants to start first? I don't think we will all fit in there..."
"I-I'll go first... if it's okay for you Mero and for you, Rachnera?"
"Sure... ain't got no problem with that... I still have to check a few things in my recipe book anyway."
As the afternoon went on, one by one, the three monster girls prepared their cold dishes in the dining area, only to move behind the stove as each had to prepare the warm dish. Yet, both Mero and Cerea seemed to have a few issues while behind the stove, although they didn't hurt themselves. Mero had problems in reaching the lowest drawers and as she prepared her warm dish, she forgot to be a meal for those that weren't mermaids.
Cerea's issue was her size. With her equine portion not being completely flexible, she had to maneuver a lot every time she had to turn around to grab an ingredient and, as she started with her warm dish, she realized she had no idea on what to do. Still, she tried her best, for her Master.
Lastly came Rachnera, who, under the surprised stare of the other two, moved with agility behind the counter and the stove, as she began preparing a couple of pans on the stove, with known and elegant movements.
As early evening came, the official judge was going to be Kimihito but all the other girls decided to come and test too, at least to know what the future was going to bring.
First served were the dishes from Mero.
As a cold dish she brought forth some delicately prepared plate of sushi, while as a warm dish, she had this mass of boiled algaes which weren't exactly much to look at. Kurusu, though, first tried the raw fish, as he, and the girls surrounding him smiled in pleasure.
But, as they tried the algae... He barely managed to stomach the first bite he had taken, before gulping down several glasses of water.
"Uhm... Mero?"
"Y-Yes, Kimihito?"
"Uhn... the recipe you used... for the... Algae. Maybe it was a bit too salty..."
"Really? I thought I had even reduced to compensate with all of you. I... I'm sorry."
"But the sushi? Spectacular! Cerea? Your turn now."
The centaur girl slowly moved forward, as she distributed the plates around the table. She had made a nice, rich salad as a cold dish and a bit of vegetable soup as a warm. Although the salad was more than excellent, as even Papi smiled as she ate, the vegetable soup left all the testers a bit depressed. It wasn't bad but, being completely vegan it lacked a bit for those more ‘meat oriented’.
Blushing quite a lot, Cerea moved aside giving space to Rachnera who came forward while carrying a lot more than two dishes, as she surprised everyone with a smallish dish made just for each of them.
Not only that, but both the cold dishes and the warm ones were quickly accepted by everyone as the best of the three. Rachnera kept her composure, although she exchanged a quick glance toward Cerea and Mero, teasing them a bit, as she realized that the centaur seemed to have her morale low.
Taking notice of this, as soon as she was alone with Kimihito and Centorea, she moved forward with her plan.
"Uhm...Kimihito?"
"Y-Yes, Rachnera?"
"I was wondering, who's going to be the one to make sure that the others behave?"
As Cerea heard that, she made to speak but, she stopped herself before saying anything. Although she tried not to make it seen, having been beaten by the larger Monster girl had left her quite down as she now saw the same girl propose herself also as supervisor.
"Uhm. That is a good question. Why should it be you, then? You're, usually, quite a tease, Rachnera..."
The spider girl didn' look at all offended as she actually nodded to Kurusu.
"Well, it's true that I like to play but...being the largest here has its advantages, not many humans would try something knowing that I'm here.
Plus, if any of the girls would try to do anything I can bind them.
Lastly, With Centorea's assistance, I don't believe anything would be able to threaten us.
What do you say?"
