Being the two oldest, they were around each other for the longest. And they did everything together, so when Kayla wanted to dance- that meant Kady was doing dance-since mom didn't have the money to pay for a sitter. Money resulted in sacrifices that Kady unknowingly made. They always played a game in the photo album, Kayla or Kady- as Kady wore all of her handme downs. The first two years of dance, he got his own uniform but because the dance program did the same dances every year for their junior levels- once he hit the ages that Kayla had already preformed, he got her old leotards.
When Kayla joined soccer in 1st grade, Kady was the team manager. Until 1st grade, when he could play on the team himself- wearing handme down shorts with his uniform.
And when Kayla wanted to join cheer in 4th grade, Kady became their manager- until the following year when their coach let him join the cheer squad a year early. Again in handme downs- the cheer skirt not being anymore of a problem than his leotard with a sewn on tutu was for dance the year earlier.
Kady idolized Kayla, so if she did it- he was okay with it, no matter the reception he got from the kids at school. He had his older sister (and younger ones too but they weren't as close until Kylie joined the older dance crew as necessity when he was in 7th grade). When Kayla joined track, Kady tried to as well- before getting cut. With his developmental issues, he did not grow to be the athlete she did.
It killed Kady last year when Kayla went to college- he didn't have the greatest relationship with his other two sisters and now he had no protector in the high school. Kylie thought she was too cool for him and would only get upset with him- so Kyra became his goto friend at home.
Anytime Kayla was home, Kady tried to keep her to himself but with his other two sisters, mom, and the occasional friend she brought home- he never felt like he had enough time. After breakfast, he to Kayla's room to see if she wanted to spend some time together.
