"So...uh..." Jubilee took a deep breath. The move was a bit sweet and seemed to have paid off well for the little guy in the box, but she didn't really know if this was okay. Was it worth being tiny to hide in the box or maybe he wasn't confident in his own skills to talk to someone like her? "Listen, I find this a bit sweet in all honesty, but I don't know if this could even work out. It's not just because you're tiny first of all, I don't really know you all too much and I kind of don't know if either of us are equipped to handle any kind of close connections between each other. Do you understand what I mean?"
Peter stared up at the giant girl and her words almost hurt him, it wasn't any sort of pain that a bad guy could've given him thankfully but it did cut through a bit deep. Truthfully she had a point, they both haven't really talked officially before this and saw each other a few times outside of school. So yeah, she had a very good point but he couldn't help but sigh and raise his hand up to his hair.
"Y-Yeah. I get it. Sorry, I just didn't have the courage to speak to you face to face." He said to her and looked away just as she got a bit closer as if she expected him to cry from her rejection. It was easy to deal with this if he was in his Spider Suit, not so much when he was just plain old Peter.
"Hey, it's alright lil' guy. There's no shame in that, I know some of my friends here aren't too good with people." That was something she knew a bit too well as a fellow mutant. "We just have different methods of trying to deal with that. And your idea seems noble at least, just as long as you're not trying to do something bad."
"Oh don't worry, I'm not planning anything bad." Peter looked up to her with a quick shake of his head and a sweep of his arms, though he looked away afterwards.
"Good." Jubilee picked up the chocolate bar and tore it open to break apart a piece for him. She was lactose intolerant so she wasn't so sure she could have chocolate if it did have a trace of milk, but it was still part of a sweet gesture after all. "Eat up."
Peter noticed that the piece was still a bit too big for him but he was a bit famished after being stuck in the box for a bit. "Thanks." As he took a slow bite into the piece with some difficulty, he immediately followed that up with, "You can call me Peter."
"Well nice to officially meet you, Peter. You can call me Jubilee." The young mutant pulled herself from his sight and looked around the room as if she were expecting something to happen, but she returned and nothing seemed to have changed. "Okay Peter, I don't imagine that you're feeling too comfortable being this tiny. Not unless you turn out to actually be working with that Ant-Guy I hear about. Maybe we can find a way to get you back to normal size?"
Though the offer seemed to be pretty good, Peter didn't know if he should really do so. Not because he was feeling a bit down still from the rejection, he did steal some Pam particles to use on himself and he can't imagine that Hank or Janet might be too pleased to see him and connect the dots on his reason why he did so. Though being tiny might not go too well for him with a lot of dangers presented to him since Xavier's school did have a lot of other people around, some with rather extraordinary powers that he didn't want to get up close and experience himself. Though if he stayed, maybe he could get to know Jubilee a little better and just talk with more confidence. Who said this day had to be a total loss?
