"A Shifter Variant, to be more precise," replied Dexter.
Pikachu looked at Ash, then looked back at Dexter for an explanation.
"Shifter Variant means that you gained the ability to switch between multiple forms. Unfortunately, we don't know which forms, or how many, just yet," explained Dexter, then he stopped briefly, and added, "The most common Shifter Variant can shift between a non-anthro and an anthro body type, but there are cases that can go through the whole Anthro Scale. Some cases can change gender, size, proportions, or even species, more often than not if they are from the same evolutionary tree."
"Wasn't there a famous case about an Eevee that could switch between all of its possible evolutions?" interjected Ash as he remembered reading about it somewhere during his studies.
Pikachu's eyes widened at the possibility, and asked with a star in her eyes, "Does that mean I can change into anything?"
"No, you should be able to alter one attribute of your body back and forth. While there are cases of some Shifters being able to alter more than one attribute, I wouldn't count on it," explained Dexter, then he stopped himself, and glanced at Ash before he added, "Although considering your luck, I wouldn't be surprised."
Pikachu pouted at the explanation, then she asked, "And how do I change?"
"I don't know," replied Dexter with what seemed to be a shrug.
Pikachu frowned and wondered if she should try to change now, or after they reach the next town.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
