As the tiny, half centimeter trio of Amber, Freddy and Terence traversed the tile floors of the kitchen, they couldn’t help but take in the sheer magnitude of their surroundings. The kitchen was like a sprawling metropolis to them, and they constantly craned their heads to look up at the counters that surrounded them. This was most impressive go Terence, who was only experiencing being shrunken for the third time in his life.
“See, told you I didn’t have any bugs!” Freddy said with a cocky tone.
“Gotta hand it to you,” replied Amber. “You keep this place way cleaner than I thought you would.”
While Amber and Freddy were in their own little world, teasing each other and bickering back and fourth, Terence’s heart was racing as he looked around the giant kitchen. He really felt insignificant at the moment, and was still questioning whether this new and very specific line of work was for him. He then heard a strange scuttling sound, one which caused himself as well as Amber and Freddy to turn around.
The trio turned around and raised their weapons, unsure of what to expect. They all saw it. Nearby, off to the side of the kitchen, was an overhang for one of the kitchen cabinets. Under one of the cabinets was what looked like a chocolate chip cookie that had fallen to the floor. This cookie also was currently the meal for four cockroaches. The cockroaches were about two times as big as each of the shrinkees, and seemed to be very defensive of their food. One let out a hiss as they began to scuttle closer.
“Fuck this,” Amber muttered, raising her rifle and taking aim. “I thought you said you didn’t have any bugs.” She held her breath as the crosshairs focused on the head of the nearest cockroach when she pulled the trigger. One down.
“Not the time,” Freddy said, moderately annoyed. He two began firing, along with Terence, and a second cockroach was soon exterminated.
The trio continued to do this, until what happened?
