Unfortunately for Tails he couldn’t free himself fast enough as the pawn blasted the fox causing his struggle to stop and his eyes glazed over indicating he was now programmable which was something Metal was interested in as despite how hard he attempted Sonic always found a way to beat him but the machine believed he may have finally found what he was missing that Sonic had: friends. Friends gave the hedgehog not only proper motivation but at times fought along with him, if Metal made them his friends then Sonic’s edge would be dulled. “Fox boy has been blasted now onto processing!” The pawn stated but as soon as it turned away from Metal he shot a single blast that tore the machine to bits. “He will not be a tool of the Doctor’s rather he will be my friend won’t you Tails?” It took a few seconds for Tails to process the words but he did respond in a quiet emotionless tone, “Metal’s
friend
” With Tails in tow Metal flees intent on finishing up ‘programming’ him so he could move on to the next target.
