I was scared of the life ahead of me, I didn't know if I'll be comfortable in there. The idea of living with giants scares me, what if they abuse or hurt me? I was escorted to my cell by guards my size. We arrived to my cell, there was a large door and a small one. They opened the small door, and pushed me in. I stumbled as I entered the cell.
The cell was dark once I regained my balance. I couldn't see anything at all, there was also a weird smell. I then realized that I would be sharing the cell with a giant convict, I got scared upon hearing this. I didn't know how he'll react to me and I obviously wouldn't want to upset him. That's when I noticed the giant, he was sitting against a wall at the corner. His knees up to his chest and hands over them, his face and eyes were closed, was he sleeping I wondered. I didn't want to annoy him so I decided to leave him for now. I glanced at the other side, and I saw a giant bed, which was obviously for the giant, and under the bed, it looked like there was a miniature bed for me, that's when I decided to head there to settle in.
As I lay on the small bed, trying to get comfortable, I couldn't help but feel uneasy. I knew I had to be careful, one wrong move could mean the end of me. I did not know much about giants, but I had heard stories of them being violent and unpredictable. I closed my eyes and tried to calm myself down. Suddenly, I heard a sound that made my heart skip a beat. It was a loud snore, coming from the giant in the corner.
I slowly got up and crept towards him, curious about what he looked like. As I got closer, I saw that he was huge, his arms and legs were the size of tree trunks. His chest rose and fell with each breath, and I could see his fangs peeking out from his mouth. I was in awe of the sight, I had never been so close to a giant before.
Suddenly, the giant's eyes snapped open and he looked straight at me. I froze in fear. I was caught I figured, I was slowly backing away from him. "Sorry Sir, I just moved into the cell, looks like we are going to be cellmates" I managed to say in a weak voice. I was scared, how would he react, would he annoy me or something I wondered.
The giant just stared at me for a moment, then a smile formed on his lips, revealing his sharp fangs. "Don't worry little guy, I won't hurt you. My name is Grom, what's yours?" he asked in a deep rumbling voice.
I hesitated for a moment, not sure if I should trust him, but something in his tone made me feel a bit more at ease. "I'm Luke," I replied softly.
"Well Luke, welcome to our humble abode," Grom said with a chuckle. "I know it can be a bit intimidating for tinies like you to be around us giants, but don't worry, most of us are just regular guys doing time like you." He sounded cocky and fond of himself.
I nodded, feeling a bit more relaxed now that he was being friendly. "Thanks, Grom. But I am not a convict, I am falsely accused of murder, the court just didn't believe me."
Grom laughed in a cocky manner. "Falsely accused? Well that's just the world right here, it's unfair isn't it. Unlike you, I'm a real convict, I killed multiple people and that's why I'm here, I like to meditate in the corner. So you better not piss me off or I might kill you like all the others" Grom said jokingly, but you took it as a threat coming from him. Grom doesn't intend to hurt you, but he is playful and arrogant and likes to tease tinies.
I swallowed hard, not sure if he was serious or just trying to intimidate me. Either way, I decided to play it safe and not push my luck. "I'll keep that in mind, Grom. I don't want any trouble."
Grom laughed again, his deep voice filling the small cell. "Relax, Luke, I'm just messing with you. I won't hurt you, I promise." He stretched his massive arms and yawned, revealing his sharp teeth once more and his muscular body. "Anyway, it's getting late. We should get some rest if we don't want the guards to come in and drag us to the cafeteria for breakfast."
I nodded, feeling relieved that he seemed to be friendly after all, or I thought. I settled back into my small bed, trying to get comfortable. As I closed my eyes, I couldn't help but wonder what other adventures awaited me in this mixed prison, and whether I would be able to survive in a world full of giants.
