"Fine. The sooner you change me back to normal, the better."
Carol nodded and enveloped Jason and herself in a sapphire light construct of a spaceship. She took off into the sky with Jason in her co-pilot's seat, the jet zipping into the sky and out of Earth's orbit.
"Does this make me an astronaut?"
"The mere act of entering space does not make one an astronaut. If you stay a Star Sapphire maybe you'll work up to that title?"
She teased.
"I don't plan on staying a Star Sapphire..."
Jason muttered.
Carol shrugged.
"Sit tight we'll be there soon."
She jettisoned the two across space. An hour or two later they finally arrived on planet Zamaron.
Unsurprisingly, the entire planet was a pink shade with sapphire crystals protruding from its rocky surface.
Carol dissipated her construct and landed before the Star Sapphire battery. Several zamarons bowed before her as she approached with Jason following closely.
"Welcome back, Queen Ferris. And I see you have brought with you a new Sapphire. Welcome home, daughter of love."
One greeted them both.
"Uh.. yeah thanks... I guess...?"
Jason looked to Carol.
"Wait, you're their queen?"
She whispered.
"That's a long story." She smiled.
"Hey so I can I ask you a question?"
"Anything, my queen."
"Hypothetically speaking, of course, if a Star Sapphire ring chose a male, what exactly would happen?"
The Zamaron paused.
"S-such an occurrence is unheard of, my queen. Our rings are programmed to exclusively select females. May I suggest consulting the battery's database?"
"Great idea. Come on Jace."
She waved at Jason.
"Jace?"
She whispered.
"What? It sounds more feminine. And you're going to want to keep what happened to you on the DL, got it? I don't know how the Zamarons would react if they found out a male was chosen."
"What do you mean you don't know how they'd react?"
Jason suddenly wondered if she could conjure her dual pistols with the ring in the event she had to fight her way out of there.
"It's nothing. Don't worry about it."
Carol stepped up to the Star Sapphire battery and presented her ring. She probed the database for any relevant information on the subject of men being chosen. All she found was that it was a sacred rule for only women to be Star Sapphires.
"We've got nothing on a male being forcefully converted by a ring."
She sighed, looking off to the side.
"Wait a second..." she checked again.
"Did you find something?"
"No, this is weird... Every Star Sapphire is tracked by the database upon the ring's selection. But... there's no information on you anywhere. Here. Give me your hand."
She took her hand out and placed Jason's ring hand inside the battery.
