There was no way you were going to lose this bet, you thought confidently as you made your way back over to the pool. This was in the bag. And not turning into a smoking hot blonde every time your sister got angry at you? This week couldn’t go by fast enough.
You were at least glad the magic kept others unaware of your changes; you wouldn’t have had the slightest idea how to explain your breasts getting larger during a trip to the changing area otherwise.
Nick was in the pool, shooting a basketball into a small hoop your parents had installed on the side of the pool years ago. Zoe was sitting in on a pool inflatable floating in the shallow end. You and Beth settle down in some of your family’s lawn chairs near the edge of the pool.
“So, Nick.” Beth asks, glancing quickly over to you with a smirk, “Mia was just telling me how impressed she was with your workouts.” You subtly reach over and slap her arm, giving her your best death glare as Zoe giggled. Nick blushed.
“It was really no big deal.” He said with an awkward smile. “I just was working at our cousin’s construction business for extra money over the summer, and moving around all that heavy equipment builds muscle fast.” He added. “And I started going to the gym more, changed my diet”…he trailed off, apparently unsure of what to add.
“Good for you.” You tell him, genuinely impressed by his hard work. Zoe looked as proud as ever, practically beaming as she drifted through the pool on the float. It really had paid off, you thought…..no! Bad! You needed to focus if you were going to win this bet.
The three of you manage to convince Beth to join you in the pool for a game of basketball, you and Nick against Zoe and Beth. Nick is so much taller than the rest of you that whichever team he’s on quickly dominates, and Zoe gets bored quickly, deciding to go back to her pool float.
After a while, you, Zoe and Beth are back sitting in the pool chairs while Nick walks around the edge of the pool, still messing around with the basketball.
