Due to a combination of extreme inhospitality and lack of particularly alluring prospects, much of the northern territories, especially the Frostbound Shelf, have remained largely uncharted. That is until now. Among the few beings hardy enough to consider these lands a permanent home are the mythical frost giants, 130ft tall humanoids with pale-blue skin and white hair.
Expedition Partner
After so many years of working solo, Carrie was rather surprised when she learned that the Exploration Council were assigning her a surveying partner. She was even more surprised to learn her partner was a city giant, a breed of giant much smaller than the rest standing at about 25-50 feet, and with overall human-like features. Turns out the Council is considering implementing a new method of performing surveys, and our human protagonist is to be their guinea pig.
Kingdom of the Giant
It's a little known fact that the Giant Race were created artificially. By which the Empire's recorders mean, they were created by a powerful yet none too bright wizard and not by a goddess like a proper species. The First Giant was created using cursed alchemy and the bodies of a handful of kidnapped humans...and this First Giant was unsurprisingly uninterested in obeying her creator, killing him and stealing the secrets behind the creation process for Giants... and no one is quite sure where this first Giant ended up, though the Giants worship her as a goddess. Now the Peninsula believes they've found her and the source of the Giant Problem...and sent Carrie to investigate.
