Chapter #6

Swap of Heroes

    by: AlexNotTheOne Author IconMail Icon
Kiran prepared himself for another summoning session as he usually did, but he couldn't help but feel Breidablik felt today, but he ignored the idea, he was probably just nervous to see what kind of heroes he would summon today, so he pointed the divine weapon and shoot, but instead of a light surrounding a hero, he was met by bullet of light coming out of the weapon, going to an unknown direction.

---

Helbindi didn't knew what hit him but he was already pissed off, Askr was supposed to be better than the filth he called home and it usually was, except for today because whatever had hit him apparently made him fly away from his body.

"What's going on!?" he scowled to himself as he saw his soul flying away from his own body as it kept moving without him, soon losing sight of it as he got deeper into the base of the Order of Heroes, everything suddenly turning dark as he hit something.

When he opened his eyes he scowled yet again, not just because he could feel something wasn't right, but because he was in front of that betting obsessed swordsman who for some reason was smirking at him.

"So what do you say Natasha? I think I won our little bet, don't you think I deserve a reward?" Joshua said as he flipped his coin.

"What bet are talking about? Betting is for weaklings like you, I don't bet" Helbindi scowled at him, being so angry that he didn't even notice his voice sounded different, nor that he had been called Natasha.

"Whoa, why so aggressive? I expected a cleric to be...emotionally immature, but I expected you to be more flustered, after all I won our bet, you fell for me" Joshua's annoying smirk only seemed to grow.

"Fell...for you?" now Helbindi was even more angry, want kind of joke was this? He didn't have time for silly romances, specially if they involved idiots like this guy, so he decided he was going to put this guy in his place.

Helbindi decided against using his axe and instead opted for a punch, but Joshua quickly dodged it, making Helbindi lose balance as he began to stumble, feeling he was about to fell to the ground.

"Don't worry, I got you" Joshua said as picked him up, making Helbindi realise a few things, his view was blocked by golden locks, his axe was gone, his armor was gone and had been replaced by a soft white material that covered his whole body, soon realising how his legs felt constricted, and now finally realising he had been called Natasha.

Suddenly realising all this just made him furious, he pushed Joshua aside, which made them both fall to the ground, but Helbindi still managed to get up, despite Natasha's dress getting in his way, he needed to get his body back.

---

"I hope this thing is not broken" said Kiran as he examined his gun, it would suck for it to be broken since it kind of was the only reason he was in the Order, so he just hit the relic and tried to summon something again, hitting the trigger four times, and four times failing to summon anything but four bullets of light, each in a random direction as Kiran got the brilliant idea of pointing at different directions, thinking that would solve his problem.

---

"Agh! What kind of foul spell is this!?" Owain yelled as he had been sucked out of his body and shoved into another one, or that was what he assumed happened since the dark purple robes and white hair weren't exactly his trademark.

"Um? What's wrong Idunn?" asked a little girl he recognised as Fae, a manakete from the world of blades.

"You, child of dragons! What malignant spell have you trust upon me?" Owain shouted as he assumed a dramatic pose, or at least tried, deciding that just clutching his fist would be enough.

"Mal...mal...what?" Fae just tilted her head, "You're speaking funny!" she giggled at 'Idunn's' expense.

"Funny? There's nothing funny in this situation, I Owain Dark have been turned into a vile dark creature!" he hold the purple robe, this combined with the long pale hair reminded him of a certain fallen dragon he had met on his past, and he immediately understood why as he realised he was in Idunn's body!

"No! Impossible, someone as heroic as I, can't be a herald of destruction! I need to recover my vessel!" he shouted out loud, he tried to walk away from the giggling manakete, but quickly realised how hard it was to move in those robes, so he reluctantly looked back at the cheerful manakete, "Um, Fae, would you mind holding my hand?" Owain was embarrassed to admit that he, the great Owain Dark, needed help to walk, "I mean, I need your help for an...adventure, full of dangerous enemies to defeat, and bountiful treasures to collect!"

"Mmmm?" Fae took a hand to her chin, an unusual thoughtful expression for her, he knew he would need to be precise to get her help.

"The treasure is sweets!" he added, hoping she would take the bait.

"Yay! Sweets are the bestest thing ever!" the manakete giggled yet again, this time she dashed towards Owain, grabbing his hand and dragging him behind her, as if her were ragdoll instead of a hero.

---

"My mask!? Where is it!?" Gerome yelled as he noticed his face was exposed for everyone to see, quickly taking a hand to conceal his expression, without his mask everyone will know his new move in battle, he would be helpless!

But he soon noticed the lack of mask was the least of his worries, now seeing how his hands covering his face had white gloves on, with golden circlets around his wrists, this odd light garment made him notice his arms were unprotected, his armor was gone!

And replacing his dark armor he found something that made him gag, a short pink dress ending on a frilly skirt, fitting a clearly female body, this just made his embarrassment grow, uselessly trying to tug the skirt, hoping it could covered his legs now wrapped in long white socks that barely reached his knees, how could someone fight wearing something so ridiculous!

How did this happen? The last thing he remembered was taking care of his dear Minerva until something dragged him away from her and now he was here, trusted into a different body.

"No, no, no" he kept mumbling to himself, his gloved hands back on his face as desperately looked around for a way to hide his blushing cheeks, he soon noticed something that was stuck with him, hair, long and blue, tied into a ponytail and braided on his sides, it wasn't ideal but he crossed the braids above his face in a poor imitation of a mask, holding it together with one hand, at least until he found a real mask, preferably his own, also he would prefer to be inhabiting his own body but he wasn't sure how this had happened.

---

"This is...weird" said Balthus as he looked at the crate full of he weapons he was carrying on his hands, he was just enjoying a drink in one of Askr's bars when something hit him on the back and dragged him away from his fun and now for some reason he was in the middle of a road, carrying valuable weapons.

This wasn't his only surprise, he soon felt his arms giving in, something that he hadn't feel in a long time, but he let go of the crate, "That thing's heavy" he whined as he felt his now sore hands.

"Huh?" now he noticed how his voice sounded odd, soft but familiar, when he looked down and saw a short pink dress and brown boots, this combined with the red locks he was seeing slightly hanging about his eyes, and the two mounds on his chest lead him to one conclusion, he was Anna the merchant that seemed to exist in every world, which could mean one of two things, he was really drunk, or that thing had somehow turned him into her.

Having a feeling he wasn't that drunk, he poked at his chest, immediately noticing the weird sensation it gave him, that was enough for him to believe this was some kind of weird magical accident.

"I guess she could be in my body, better check that out" he told himself, but before going back to the bar, he looked back at the crate full of weapons, they looked expensive, really expensive, maybe he could fetch a good price for them, enough to pay the debt he had gained after arriving at Askr, that was quickly starting to match the one he had back in Fodlan, he didn't want to use someone else's help to pay his debts but since he technically was Anna now he would be selling his own weapons, right?

A smirked appeared on his face as he grabbed the crate again, already thinking of where he would go to drink once he was free of debt.

---

"What's the meaning of this!?" shouted Walhart as he regained consciousness after something projectile hit him on the back, thinking it was some cowardly attack he reached for his axe just find it had disappeared, along with his armor, both gone, he was shocked to see his once might conqueror's body had been replaced by a meek girl's body, a long blue scarf covered most of his chest and and a black and grey attire coveted most of his body, except for his face and feet.

"Kana? Are you fine?" asked a concerned Midori, she was asking Kana find her lost dragonstone before Corrin berated her for losing it again.

"Kana? That weakling's name doesn't belong to me! I am Walhart, the great conqueror and emperor of Valm!" he shouted again, not noticing he didn't sound intimidating at all.

"Um? I think you might have some kind of fever" a Midori replied as she placed a hand on 'Kana's' forehead, thinking what herbal remedies could help her with this.

"Fever? That's nonsense! A fever is the least of concerns for this meek body! I need my strength back!" he spat back as he slapped Midori's hand away.

"Calm down, I told you I would help you find the dragonstone" Midori answered, not expecting her friend to get so aggressive.

"Dragonstone?" Walhart thought about it for a moment, maybe the powers of a dragon were exactly what he needed to reclaim his strength, maybe even surpass it, "Yes! You will guide me to this dragonstone or you would perish!" he shouted as he pointed at Midori that just ignored his outburst and continued the search, hoping finding the stone would calm 'Kana'.
